Can we please get PvP specific and PvP activated tier set bonuses that are on all conquest pieces (possibly honor too) including the ones off the vendor.
I want PvP UNIQUE bonuses that benefit your class/spec in pvp that is something other than performance/output.
EXAMPLE : Arms 2/4 set - Intervene now gives the ally Safeguard reducing damage taken by 20% for 6 seconds.
Playing the RNG game until catalyst is available, for a set bonus that is entirely created around pve is simply garbage design.
If this isnt possible for whatever reason I would rather tier sets just be disabled in pvp.
PvE tier was disabled for a decade or more in pvp before it’s reintroduction at the end of shadowlands. We are destined to continue this really frustrating cycle of the beginning of the season being super vault dependent and balance overall being impacted by which specs get set bonuses that happen to be impactful in pvp until they decide to do something.
Reducing the bonuses by 50% helped a little, I guess, but I do know that I still felt a massive advantage having 2-set before most people this season since I got a set piece in my first vault. It really should just be a non-factor and there should be pvp specific bonuses tied to the conquest gear or no bonuses at all in rated pvp.
I’ve been suggesting this for a while but they seem keen to retain the same tier across all pillars, which makes sense for pve but I’m not really sure if the tradeoff is worth for pvp.
They had pvp set bonuses on both honor and conq gear in WOD, wish they’d bring it back. Just makes the disparity between honor and conq that much worse atm. On top of the various imbalances the pve tier set bonuses bring to the game as is.
I hate how some specs just have godmode tier sets that make them OP halfway through the season. We all know blizzard is most active in tuning at the beginning of a season, so when it’s a tier set that throws balancing off and makes a spec OP, it seems like it takes way longer to get addressed.
Look at sin rogues last season. The tier set really took them over the top on making them S+ tier, and it took months for blizzard to address it. Without the tier they were still strong, but not nearly as OP as with tier.
And then you have specs with garbo tier sets that just progressively get worse as the season goes on and more people get tier.
Imagine getting BiS PvP gear from doing only rated and unrated PvP content. No crafting, no vault luck, just doing the content you want for the gear you want.
This! I agree. The PvE tier gamble each season has felt so bad to me. If it was at least pvp related bonuses it wouldn’t feel as bad but for the last 3-4 seasons the class I play literally doesn’t even want 4 set.
Since I severely doubt they’ll ever spend dev time for spec specific PVP sets, I’ll say that I’d settle for a generic set like “grants X vers for Y sec when you are victim of a CC” etc. Stuff that every class/role can benefit from so they don’t have to spend precious money-making PVE dev time on minigame PVP.
It’s a pve decision making thing by design. The stats on the tier sets are static across all specs for the class. Different specs of each class like different stats. Making the tier stats super favorable for a given spec would make everyone just play that one spec in pve. There’s also the situation with m+ gear and non-set drops. Everything other than tier drops would just be irrelevant if you could just make the tier pieces have the stats you want.
Ya I agree, as someone who hates doing anything but PvP for gear the crafting part is great. Especially since you don’t have to do anything but PvP (other than buying mats of the AH) to make the crafted gear anyway.
