PvP Stat Templates

I’m so glad the pvp devs removed stat templates from instanced pvp. Now I can just sit my fresh 120 with ~250 ilvl in a random without having to worry about doing anything! Ya know, since it wouldn’t matter anyways since I hit like a toddler.

PVP Stat templates being removed was a fantastic decision. A fresh 120 shouldn’t be able to compete with someone with twice their ilvl and HP. Grind out some conquest, do some warfronts and you’ll get geared quickly.

“I just dinged 120 and want to be on a level playing field with everyone” doesn’t make sense in an MMO. At least not to me anyway.

Oh I agree, amazing choice! Now I just simply queue for a bg and afk, and never have to worry about carrying my team while I gear up in casual randoms.
I’m actually typing this while in one right now! hehe
I did do the single warfront I could do at this ilvl and unfortunately didn’t get an item, maybe in a couple weeks I can try again. As for conquest, I’ll just passively get that from afking these bgs since rated pvp would be impossible without the templates, which is understandable.

Is this the daily “I don’t know anything about scaling or how it works in BFA” thread?

No this is a thread congratulating blizzard on finally giving me a good reason to afk bg’s again. I was getting tired of hitting level cap on a toon just to find out that I had to carry my team, most of whom had never stepped foot into an arena and were considered “carebears”, because the stat template allowed me to put that backpack on. Without the even playing field (which I can see why you dislike that notion after peeking your profile @Nomak  ) I can now again rest easy knowing somehow my team with their much higher ilvls should be able to carry me to those sweet vicroys

Edit: even if they do play with adaptation in a bg :frowning:

Sounds like you have no idea how scaling works in BFA.

I don’t know how scaling has worked in any expansion, but I do know it was a lot easier to level cap and grind bgs for gear in legion, but this system allows me to afk while doing it! It is greatly appreciated.

Not sure why you’re so proud of AFK’ing as some sort of protest against the injustice Blizzard has dealt to you? All you’re doing is hurting your teammates, and being proud of blatant douchebaggery. Even playing fields are for first person Shooters, or fighting games, not an MMO. What is the point of gear if not character progression?

Since you like to check profiles to support your stance, here is my 370 horde alt that doesn’t raid, do M+, or any rated PVP. I leveled him up 2 months after the start of BFA and do nothing but random conquest stuff, warfronts, and world quests. I didn’t ding 120 and expect to be competitive with my 70k HP. I did some casual grinding, and this poop-alt is now “competitive”. Don’t be so lazy and entitled.

Even playing fields are for all game types, miss me with that exclusive bs lol. The lazy and entitled are the ones who don’t put the time and effort it takes to actually learn how to pvp better, and expect it to be a “fun, casual grind” but I wouldn’t expect any less from a pvmer. The point of gear is apparently to look good according to transmoggers, or would you rather that be removed as well? "Random conquest stuff, warfronts, and WQ’s are almost unrecognizable as PvP. None of your alts will ever be competitive because you will never step into the arena bub.
Tired of this immature name-calling bs over my afk strat so eat your own excrement

So… because I dislike Legion PVP stat templates and someone being proud of AFK’ing in BG’s that means I hate transmog, suck at PVP, and should eat my own poop?

Ok, cool. Just making sure we’re on the same page.

Fully in support of this thread, those that were in favor of gear to matter in instanced pvp, I’m happy for them to carry my new alts in BGs now. And as for scaling, it’s really nowhere near the same as in it was in Legion.

I’ve topped damage on a fresh balance druid and survival hunter using multi-hit serpent sting. Tab-target dot classes can top damage in the casual bgs without needing gear.

You are an affliction warlock. All you need to do is have good positioning, be aware of your surroundings and dot anything that gets in range of you.

Is this a serious thread?

The big power gap in legion came from artifact level and your honor level to get pvp talents. The big power gap in bfa are the azerite powers.

Item level didn’t matter as much in legion but many bfa item level complaints are overblown.

Pretty sure OP is salty AF about the removal of the Legion PVP stat templates. Heavy is the burden one bears from carrying 9 to 14 other people in random BG’s apparently.

Aside from azerite traits, I would wager that the scaling is the exact same as in Legion with 10 item levels = 1%.

Also…

What does this mean? Is it a typo or is it a legitimate description of something? I ask because after inspecting Nhomak, I may be a similar player.

Drug, get off the drugs.

Your gear isn’t why you suck.

Scaling is the same as legion just back end.

This is an “OP got dumpstered hard and got so mad he came to the forums to make a thinly veiled, uninformed whine about gear in an MMO” thread

scaling doesnt matter when your opponent has double your hp :joy::joy::joy:
