PvP stat (10 character title)

Because Ion has stated unequiovacally that “gear is gear” and he wants the same gear to work in all three forms of endgame content (Raid, M+, and rated PvP). This is why there must be ilvl gates on the gear. Love it or hate it, that’s the way it is, and that’s the way it is going to be for all of Shadowlands - the systems with the weekly cache and such are already in place, and they are not changing with 3 weeks left.

The best fix for this that works in the confines of their system is to give us a 4 piece and 6 piece set bonus, so that equipping PvP gear has a versa benefit in PvP. This way, we are disincentivized entirely from wearing PvE trinkets (to get the 4 and 6 you must have the 2 set trinket) and we are actually incentivized to wear the gear we obtain from our own content.

I think it might be any one or combination of these:

  • It has been designed around mythic raiders.
  • A new design lead/team (Legion and onward) that thinks anything that was not designed by them must be inferior and should be thrown out.
  • PVP players are needed to prop up a waning raid scene (see the first bullet).

Nothing else makes sense to me.

I wanna say you’re wrong but Castle Nathria testing has been going on for how many months now while Sub Rogues have been giving people lobotomies in skirmish?

Hmm, this pvp gear system worked great for 4 expansions. Let’s change it!

“After 10 years it’s nearly perfect! All these operations are finally coalescing into something amazing”

“Alright, let’s scrap that and do something different now.”

“opposing players command virtual armies in battle against each other or a computer-controlled enemy”

The Warcraft series expands well beyond WoW dude. The entire concept the game from it’s creation was that of warfare. Notice how the MMO has been on a decline ever since Ion took over with his PvE mentality? No coincidence.

Ion was so desperate for gladiator achieve that he re-designed the entire game around being in a mythic raid group.

That’s true dedication.

Laughing so hard I scared my cat

The game has been on the decline since Cata pre-sales. And continued to decline between MoP and WoD.

The game should be interconnected. That does not mean pvp gear and gearing shouldn’t be vastly better than it currently is.

Care to explain?

Haughs does an excellent job here.

“and the same could be said for a pvp’er”

Sorry, but that’s simply not true.

And for the mythic raider: laziness =/= inaccessible. The queues and the gear are there.

To be clear, I wasn’t supporting that idea.
Made it very clear I was just explaining my idea of their logic, not whether it’s correct.

If I’m a raider and I’m done with raiding, I don’t care to pvp. I’m cancelling my subscription. That’s the reality.

I get it, i’m answering to the other guy.

Yup yup I just don’t like the idea of bloomsday quoting something I’ve said and using it for his own means.

Just in the interest of my defense, haha. Have at it

It simply is true, I completely agree with Haugs here. The game is better when all content is accesible. It helps WoW establish itself as an interconnected eco-system. This is one game and one community. We don’t need seperation, we need unification.

PvPers won’t “feel less incentivized” to queue bgs in order to get their currency for blue gear, in order to start queing arena. Idk what or who are your info sources, but this is definitely wrong.

He just takes the opposite position of who he’s replying to and then says that’s how blizzard said it should be, literally Bloomsday format post.
He literally just twisted “all content should be accessible” into “PVP should make sacrifices for PVE”
Also anyone know how to ignore someone with a hidden profile, seems like a Blizzard forum oversight.

Yeah, how unfortunate.

Yeah just want to say the same here as well. I don’t support the idea or philosophy because I think everything worked better back when we had separate gear. I also feel that more people did PvP back then as well. I was a hardcore raider from 2007-2010/11 ish and I would say 7 out of every 10 people in my guild had a full set of PvP gear ready to go for BGs, Wintergrasp, and even arena (but smaller scale than BG folks). Nobody had a problem with it back then.

I don’t support Ion’s system because the old system worked. But I also recognize the reality that the old system isn’t coming back as long as Ion and his people are still making the decisions, and it sure isn’t changing on a massive scale with the xpac out so soon. Hence why I am trying to propose ideas and fixes that work within the confines of their philosophy. I think if we have to live with Ion’s philosophy on the end game gear, having a 4/6 set bonus including trinkets is actually a very workable and fair compromise.
