Agreed, that part was ridiculous. I think Blizzard quickly woke up which is why they removed that requirement today. I was simply commenting on his irrational comment of being forced to pvp.
Furthermore, to address the ACTUAL topic I was responding to, yours has nothing to do with it. Your comment was an entirely different issue.
That is completely wrong as a heads-up. The amount of conquest required to buy every slot of gear is 10375. This is not counting the fact that you may be a survival hunter for example where you use both a mainhand 2H and then you also have a ranged weapon.
At 10375 conquest and 550 conquest per week, that is a minimum of 19 weeks to buy all gear for pvp and only through pvp. Guess what, you wont be able to buy a piece of conquest for every slot until almost 5 months into this season. Oh and by the way, you will barely be able to get full gear by buying conquest every week. by the time the patch comes out.
Of course, this is not likely but you still have to get lucky and then get non-duplicate conquest gear on your weekly chests to see that difference and by the way, the highest ilvl conquest is also gated by rating. if you aren’t a high level arena player you will not be able to get much use out of the weekly chest, if you are lucky enough to even get gear that you want.
I put a qualifier in there as to what “full geared” meant, which for this topic I assumed 226 in every slot.
Yes, 19 weeks if you buy every single item from the vendor and never, ever, get a single usable item from your weekly chest which is almost impossible.
People will be saving conquest for 4 weeks for weapons. How would it be possible to not get any upgrades from the chest?? Even if magically all 4 weeks were duplicates that is 1 item. And if you get more than 1 option they already stated a given week can’t have duplicates.
So, there is definitely going to be at least 6-7 slots over this time geared via the weekly chest.
And if you don’t have the rating at the time, upgrading it only takes honor when you do get it. You don’t have to buy/get the item all over again at a higher item level.
By contrast, someone only doing mythic+ has only 1 single way to get any 226. Once per week in the chest. No catchup. No targeting item (the largest loot table of the 3 items).
You still are completely missing the point were trying to make. And lets say by fully geared we mean full bis in every slot you have to be a mythic raider.
Please lower the price of conquest gear and remove the rating requirements and instead use normal honor to upgrade them, this will encourage more participation than anything else. You tried this system for years and it hasn’t worked to encourage participation, let everyone get the best gear! The elite should only get cosmetic rewards.
Yes but there is more then one instance you can run in mythic, multiple bosses to kill, so you can get more then one piece of gear per week without the vault.
This is completely not true. In its current state, the stats on pvp gear are completely trash and raiders do not use pvp as a means to gear. they use m+.
The conquest system in place ensures you do not get an upgrade every week. You instead can take up to 2 or more (depending on which piece you are saving for) to get an upgrade. If RNG is not in your favor for the weekly chest, it can take 5 months to get fully geared from conquest gear with a 550 a week conquest cap. (math I used was for all items, conduit and 2h weapon).
How does this make sense in your brain? An active pve player can be geared in half that time if not sooner. The difference is there is a cap on what a PVP player is capable of obtaining if he chooses to only pvp in a week. (Which is what I used to do up until legion made me have to pve to pvp). PVE players can spam mythic+ just to get the best gear available until they get their drops needed from their raids.
