PvP Rank Pools Hotfix Coming October 13

I feel like this is going to be one of those endless AV type of threads NGL

as it should be. can’t believe blizz put out 1.12 av. lol.

Terrible idea, consider reversing. Really doesn’t make sense at all.

Honestly this is the most ridiculous thing. Pretty much everybody who wanted Rank 14 or whatever they were going for did it when PvP first came out. This is 10 months to late. Even with pool boosting the PvP was a grind already. I can’t imagine how destructive this will be now to people.

on my server the boosting was harder than the ranking. people with 1 account running an orc 340 times. this is so dumb

also, who does this benefit? the people that buy gold and raidlog til the next raid and get their r13 equiv gear?

no changes to their method of play, being boosted to 60 on one of every class buying consumes with irl dollars and hardly actually playing the game

but people who have to play like a fulltime job get the shaft here? blizz u are dumb man. really dumb

This “exploit” is necessary to combat the mismanagment Blizzard displayed here. Instead of having “normal” worlds/servers they decided the best course of action was to create mega servers with population caps far exceeding the original vision and game this version tries to emulate. They also added cross realm bgs, which was not a thing till very very late in vanilla. The servers had only server wide BG grps, significantly lengthening queue times. This led to lower caps, more world activity, less premade spam (since you can not run a premade 24/7 because the opposite pug team will just stop queuing if they keep getting farmed 5 times in a row by the same prem). Lower world pop also meant that the rare br1 slots were not so eagerly fought about by this many players. You have 8k ppl on a server, your brackets are gonna get filled quite quickly once you are at the top.

It also means now that, thanks to this change, servers like skeram, deviate delight (possibly), heartseeker etc. are gonna be impossible to rank on, atleast on the 1% side. So the loyal souls who still play there are basically screwed if they want to rank past 12. They can not even participate in the original server pool trade (where nobody deletes characters and the servers help each other out by having the pvpers participate in each respective pool), because they do not have the numbers to support another server. Blizzard is literally taking a huge steaming pile of S… on these people, that they already screwed over by mismanaging the server transfer.

This change does absolutely nothing, except highlight even further how poorly thought out their classic project was. Instead of making sure the game ran as closely as possible as the original one on their BFA client, they should have thought about wether it was a good idea to implement stuff that was only in for like 10% of the lifespan of original vanilla.

Its an absolute disgrace on what they do not deal with, do not tackle, do not fix, and then come up with a change like this (when we are in phase 5, and near the very end phase of the lifecycle of “vanilla”).

Either you are just here to troll, are strictly a pveer who has no idea, or you are willfully ignorant despite being told why its bad, if you think this is where you should make your “its an exploit” defense.

Can we just get the pitchforks already and head to blizzard HQ? These guys suck it’s time to RIOT

The number of people per rank is percent based, increased number of players don’t change that.

I see someone that still hasn’t answered my question from earlier.

A year after ranking comes out you make this change? Out of all the gold selling and botting this is what you focus on? What a company

I have to agree.

I try not to complain about what they decide to change and just take it for what it’s worth but with all the other issues they’re having this is what they decide to fix?

Blizzard your priorities are comical at this point, if this was implemented when pvp ranks were released it would be a different story. There are literal fly hacking bots running around everywhere and you make this change in the last 15-20% of the game. I am confident you will lose a lot of subs over this. Even casual players who enjoy pvp are gonna unsub when they have to wait 1 hour to get into a BG because no one cares anymore. But hey, if you failed retail for so many years might as well apply that philosophy to classic as well.

So many intimidation stunts to persuade Blizzard to revert the change is kinda cringe

You referring to my post? It was a pretty obvious joke I thought

How about you fix something actually damaging the fabric of the game? Like maybe all the multi-boxers who use software to operate, which clearly breaches the ToS, or the fly hackers, or the botters.

You couldn’t be arsed fixing this straight away, as should have been done, so why start now?

Literally any other problem in the game would be a higher priority to this, considering how boring the game is becoming because of your poor decisions.

Maybe next time do something constructive and useful and pull your heads out of your asses.

And just fire whoever is in charge of Classic, they are clearly incompetent. Find someone with some passion for the game.

There’s always got to be that one person who derives pleasure out of sitting on the fence throwing rocks at those who choose to vent their frustration.

Heckler shaming aside, Blizzard has once again sniffed out where I’ve been having fun with my time in-game and dashed it to bits.
