I know there are many combos but I’m trying to finalize a solid combo for my DK. Any seasoned or knowledgeable DK’s out there have a suggestion from experience? Trying to make the right choice here so I can start farming mats right now. Thank you in advance.
This relates majorly to PvP. Never really bothered too much with PvE.
Blacksmithing/JC is a popular one.
With all the changes that happened to engineering in WotLK I don’t remember what does/doesn’t work in Arenas. Pretty sure rocket gloves still work (don’t quote me). They’re pretty good for lining up burst.
Enchanting’s all right too, gives AP - but not mainstat like JC or BS does, so it’s “less good” (strength gives parry rating, AP does not, so STR is better when both give around equal amounts of AP).
Never tried inscription - and I wouldn’t. I like resil on my shoulders. As for PvE, dunno.
Wouldn’t go tailoring. You need the spell pen if you’re going to PvP (referencing cloak enchant*). As for PvE, again I dunno.

Yes I seen BS/JC being brought up a lot just making sure I don’t miss anything like the extra HP for mining or heal from Herbalism. Not sure how much that affects overall. Looks like BS/JC though thanks.

Engineering and Herbalism. You get a free heal with herb and engineering is and always will be the main PvP profession. More bombs=more CC=more bandage time=WIN

Start farming materials now? I got all my materials last year. I made a thread about preparing many months ago. Bit late to start doing it all now 1 week before DKs unlock. That said, most will go engineer, as any class, because its bonuses are simply the best. The engineer meta will be back in full force. Blacksmith/jewelcraft will be common as 2nd since it uses the same materials. Personally, as someone that never chases any metas, I’ll be alchemy/jewelcraft.

-This isn’t warmane. I also don’t play it and couldn’t care less about their leaderboards.

As far as the passives from gathering professions go, skinning’s crit would beat out the extra teeny bit of stamina/crappy hot.

I mean engi is usually the go to PvP profession as for the second one, I think it’s personal preference more than anything really.

Absolutely right on my timing. I came back a few weeks ago because of personal stuff etc. ATM I’m just capping my honor on my main and dailies in Isle so I pretty much have nothing else going on. After reading all the replies it’s going to be Engi/JC for me. Thanks all
Have played on Warmane for over 5 years
Go Engineering on any main character you care about. Hell, I’d heavily recommend it on all alts unless you have good reason (Like they are double gatherer)
Even if Arena doesn’t allow some of the benefits, it’s still advised in every other aspect of the game including WPvP/BGs/Dungeons/Raids/Questing/Sanity
If nothing else, do it so you have an AH in Dalaran. Trust me, this is one of the most important benefits in Wrath and it’s the main reason I level engineering to max on any new 80 I get on Warmane. Makes me want to blow my brains out taking ports to other cities or logging to other chars and mailing for any use of the AH

Unless someone literally only plays Arena and touches no other content in the entire game, including the actualy Auction House, then no you are wrong.
Go to any class discord and ask professions, the answer is “Engineer and whatever you feel like”. Yes there’s prios after Engineering, but to not choose Engineering is so comically stupid in Wrath you may as well have a Dunce Cap on
