You Join a BG - You sign up for PvP - But low and behold the battleground is 15v10 AB. mmm You try to play it out but end up getting farmed at the GY as the disparity is too high.
You Join up the next BG - Same thing, 15v10. Then the next. How long do you expect people on the 10 man side to keep queuing? Are they sore losers for not wanting to fight 15v10 all day? Are they whining when they ask for it to be balanced, or for some kind of solution from the community?
I actually enjoy the world in such a dangerous state, but I am a geared 60 druid so can usually evade when i want and fight when I want. I can completely understand why most 60/40 realms feel like they are in the above loop however. Can you blame them for not enjoying the pvp they signed up for?
Second GY camping in BGs will occur repeatedly when the teams are equal in number.
Third, your hypothetical scenario is not hypothetical at all. WSG and AB will regularly be lopsided and often result in GY camps. Sometimes repeatedly for many games.
People complained in vanilla, it was never âfixed.â
People will complain now, it wonât be âfixed.â Neither will any of the stuff people are whining about in wpvp, be âfixed.â
Classic is what it is. The forums will always be filled with whining and complaining.
Ahhhhh! It is what it is! Solid point! Well there it is guys. It is what it is so just let servers get completely unbalanced and possibly die cause this is Classic just with the MINOR, MINOR change of servers being 4-5 times larger population wise.
They didnât sign up for a pre-arranged 10v10 BG, or anything resembling that. They signed up for a world where any opposite faction member can actively engage them at almost any time, almost anywhere.
If you want to PVP under fair conditions, then thatâs totally fine, and totally do-able. The thing with all these analogies, and stories, and even problems is, when you ask what the people who are complaining what they mean when they say PVP, they are actually describing PVE Servers. Really.
It seems âthe problemâ is simply comprehension.
The point is it isnât hypothetical. Secondly BGs to some degree try to create a âbalancedâ team on both sides. WPvP has no such goal.
But the main point of my response is OP is trying to use a problem that has existed in WoW forever as an analogy to the imbalanced wpvp âproblems.â But his example of BGs has never been fixed for 15 years. The wpvp âproblemsâ wonât be fixed either.
The problem is how bad itâs gotten on some realms. I play on your realm. Itâs a slaughterhouse for the most part. Sure sometimes Alliance will hold even BRM briefly, but thatâs not generally the case. When it become unhealthy for the server in general itâs a problem. Iâm not sure how long youâve been playing here but IF has dwindled a little bit without a doubt. I donât mind the constant outnumbering, but thatâs clearly not the case for everyone.
These guys camping BRM for hours, literally just sitting there in lines of groups killing whatever alliance still play and occasionally go there. They have to be getting embarrassingly laughable amounts of honor by doing this, its actually kind of sad seeing 90% of horde lower rank than a lvl 58.
Iâd be hesitant to call that âholdâ - there are sometimes clears, and at times we have the lower part for a âwhile,â but I have yet to see Alliance hold BRM on Fairbanks (maybe it has happened - itâs not like Iâm here actually 24/7 - Iâm usually in a dungeon or elsewhere, when I am online - I was surprised at how freely I was able to wander around Wintergrasp today, when I went to finish my Ony Attunement, and Felwood wasnât bad either, btw, which I found shocking considering what I was expecting).
Certainly, I think that people who would like to discuss the issues with large numbers of players dominating areas would have some content for conversation.
Whether that is a problem or even related to faction balance is not necessarily super obvious. Of course, we do see realms with great faction disparity, such as Heartseeker, and Stalagg, Skeram, Fairbanks, where it appears that faction imbalance is exacerbated by large population or the other way around.
In any case, Iâve been on Fairbanks for a little under 3 weeks, since rerolling:
When it comes specifically to the discussion of faction balance and its role in WPVP, and the enjoyment of WoW, there are a couple of questions I think are worth talking about upfront:
To me, a problem is activity/subscriptions declining.
I guess there are a few ways to think about this:
Itâs not actually a problem and some alliance are just whiners.
Itâs a problem and Blizzard just doesnât care.
Itâs a problem and Blizzard released bgs early hoping it would solve a lot of the wpvp imbalances while keeping it as close to the âvanillaâ experience as possible.
Of those I believe the last one is the most probable. The only devils advocate I can think of to my own argument is why they just wouldnât let paid xfers off, but, devils advocate to that is that it might actually be worse for the game(and their money) in the long run anyways.
I believe the problem is real and Iâm HOPING it will be solved this Tuesday.
With the amount of whining youâre putting out with no legacy achievements youâre literally showing that youâre the sort of child that shouldnât be playing classic in the first place.
