PVP newcomers

Not always as easy as that, depending on the class you’re fighting.

For those bringing up druids, I’m not sure this would be a class I’d preach as being “easy” in duels (and I’m speaking mostly about equal skill 1v1s at a high level).

As a hybrid Druids’ role is a bit more nuanced and complex at most points during any given fight and there are a lot of abilities that need to come in to play to make sure you’re utilizing the class to the fullest and not missing out on anything.

Also, if you want to truly be a dominant dueling druid (like you actually kill your opponent consistently in a fair 1v1), you pretty much are forced to be Restoration.

Feral is pretty OK for zugging around and ganking clothies but you can pretty much never be in cat form against rogues and warriors ; they will obliterate you in merely a few swings, and they are the most popular PvP classes, and Bear form doesn’t notably improve that much in terms of DPS by filling out the whole feral tree. You have no access to NS (unless you run HOTW + NS which is IMO a bad spec because it lacks shapeshifter) This is why instead you focus on Restoration, pick up insect swarm, and play a “DoT and run” type spec. Moonfire, Swarm, and kite away. Druids are good at kiting, so you just have to spend time getting to know your method. You’d be running a sort of tri-spec hybrid while still reaching Swiftmend.

Resto tri-spec PvP druid is absolutely a force to be reckoned with.

Killing rogues is ten times easier as feral in bear form. Almost cheating depending how geared you are.

Thanks everybody. I’m leaning toward night elf hunter now, but I might depend on the whims of fate and roll to see which race and class I take.

Prolly rogue or frost mage. They are the kings of pvp.

Spriest is probably the easiest to pick up.

Least amount of keybinds.
Can off heal, dispel, abolish diseases.
R10 gear is super good for pvp
It is generally OP in world pvp but you will DRINK A LOT

Doesn’t WoW already drive people to drink a lot?

Shadow priest is hands down the easiest and best PVP class.

Shadow Priest, Easiest is Troll / UD followed by Dwarf / Hoomy.

All true if you’re using max rank everything, but you can down rank your pain 2 levels and down rank to R1 flay when you’re around 200+ spell damage and be very effective on the mana flow keeping the big zug ranks for when you really need something dead fast because it may get away from you. I almost never use mind blast, its ok I guess just I don’t like it.

I am leveling S Priest atm however I don’t feel the power compared to my warlock

Warlock have better and spammable fear that can lock out an opponent, more dots with Immolation, corruption and agony plus you can spam curse of exhaustion and run around while your enemy dies without being able to do anything …

On top of having free mount at lvl 40 and a personal tank with void walker making leveling solo trivial

Self heals are good too with drain life + health stone and in groups you never go oom

I’m not sure why so many people say S Priest is so great , you can’t even use self heals in shadow form

Easiest would have to be BM Hunter. Key word is easiest.

Anybody saying Mage is wrong. Mage requires skill to be good in PVP.

Spriest has higher on demand burst, more group utility and is tankier, along with bubble and vampiric embrace healing a decent amount from dealing single target damage. They also have an aoe instant fear on a short CD and a silence without giving up survivability like warlocks have to. They are both good and have their pros and cons for sure.

What in demand burst? I only have mind blast which has cd and can be interrupted and mind flay which screams “ kick me “ and isnt really burst damage

Affliction lock with desro dip has soul burn and theier fear is spammable allowing for easy use of soul fire

You reduce its CD with talents, it BARELY has a CD. Mind blast into mind flay is more burst than locks have ON DEMAND. They rely on shadow bolt procs which is RNG.

Fear suffers from spell pushback in classic and can also be interrupted. Not so easy to get off with a melee on you.

Also, the only time youre getting off a soul fire is in a 1v1 so

You mention that mind blast has a CD. So does shadow burn.

Locks are great. I just think youre underselling spriest.

True but you have to slog through leveling a priest which is awful.

mind blast, dot, wand wand wand wand wand wand wand wand forever.

Die to any pvp until mide 40s maybe 50s

Yuh but you literally have to drink after

Every
single
engagement.

You have to REALLY love playing Spriest to play Spriest.

Warlock or BM Hunter.
Rogue’s pretty strong so unless you’re keyboard turning you’ll get a few kills while you figure out the class.
Druid and Warrior are both F tier for newbies.
Warriors are too gear reliant and newbies don’t know where to get gear.
Druids are probably the most complex class in the game. Warrior tanking w/stance dancing is comparable to a druid changing forms to do things.

mage is a solid newbie class too because you only have a few spells to start with and your spells do a lot of damage plus you can make your own food and water.

Shaman and Paladin are about the same.
You’re a slightly worse warrior who can self-heal.

As a spriest you have, spell pushback protection, focused casting, melee damage reduction, shield, dispel and silence. Yes a lock has access to most of those to some degree, but they are dependent on which pet you have out. And have their own quirks, like devour being able to free you from cc, but having 8s cd. Making it much more like batman with prep time.

Nah this is vanilla brain/private server/old school thinking.

The rogues I know would never lose to even the most geared feral druid. Especially if they have blind up and aren’t opened on with a double shred crit, rogues have way too many tools to reset bad outcomes to early fight dynamics that ferals simply do not have the mana to outshine.

Bears are extremely easy to counter because any rogue with a brain just uses expose armor and now you’re basically a cat but fatter.

A proper tri-spec resto druid though? They fear those. They don’t even want to engage with those.

Easiest would be BM Hunters.

But if you want little more agency than that, Rogues.
