In your opinion, what is the easiest class to be effective with for newcomers to PVP?
generally I’d say warlock if you want a very straightforward play pattern, SL/SL is pretty strong.
If you just want to blow people up Reckoning paladin requires minimal effort during the actual engagement.
I like hunters. Druids can always run away real good.
SL/SL isn’t until TBC
I mean all of them got their strengths and weaknesses… there isn’t a “meta” class
If we’re talking bare minimum skill floor it’s probably bm hunter.
Mage for DPS. Pally for heals.
serves me right for trying to talk about a class that I haven’t played in years I guess.
The point still generally stands though, locks are a pretty tanky class with good consistent damage.
And when tbc comes out you can play SL/SL.
Play each class to lvl6-10. You will get an idea of which class kit matches your playstyle more.
In pvp each class has a place too. I generally don’t look at dueling/1v1 as vanilla pvp, you can cheese too much and in the end wpvp ends up turning into group fights anyway. And contrary to popular belief, pvp has less spec restrictions than pve raids, and I will say more of the meme specs have more pvp flavors to them. So you literally cannot pick a bad pvp class in vanilla, assuming you play one you actually enjoy.
SL in vanilla is bis for duels and WPvP, but ideally you want to play Conflag or SM/Ruin in BGs especially if you’re Alliance since you don’t have ele shamans.
yea ally actually needs hunters/locks for our pvp. A good mid hunter and a good lock are worth just as much as a good druid FC in wsg. Old players force paladins to go deep holy, but classic post 2019 proved the better spec is 20/0/31 ret with both a dmg set and a healing set. Repent used defensively helps counter horde caster burst.
hunters are the best newb-friendly pvp class you have a lot of options, and it is quite fun and satisfying to chase people down as a hunter.
Alliance is comp dependant sometimes. Not having a priest or lock can be an instaloss. The saving grace is gnome mage is just as good as a druid FC.
I’m a retired paladin memer and I wouldn’t play any spec without Guardian’s Favor. I used the standard 11/9/31 on pservers for years and would always do gear swaps.
yea im thinking of phase 6 group pvp. T3 with 20 holy talents can be broken lol.
Having 3min bops can win alot of fights.
The freedom duration is really big too. Less downtime more blue zug. I haven’t played paladin since 2018 and people have evolved a lot since then. All the rage then was just proc stacking with tons of consumes, but I swore by my humble naxx healer gear swap. I feel vindicated when I watch some of the good rets on Era.
Any healer. Thanks.
Easiest rogue or lock.
Paladin. Then probably priest but I’m biased. Priest sucks kinda more than paladin because pally you can BoS someone to keep from being sheep spammed, and you can dispell viper spamming hunters, but the offensive dispel as priest is really powerful, fear can be helpful, mana burn is helpful. They all got strengths and weaknesses especially in vanilla, TBC is better QoL all around. Shaman is really good on horde side but you’ll be keybinding all your keys, mouse, and your buttcheeks
I think some of you are confusing better for easier to learn and grow with.
Mage is pretty much the best skill scaling class in the game. Meaning, if you are a 1st time palyer its good. If you are casual its good. If you are a veteran its good.
rogue. easiest class to play
literally just do this and anyone will die
step 1:stealth, cheap shot, hemo, hemo, hemo, hemo, kidney shot, hemo, hemo, hemo, hemo, Cold blood, Evis
Did they die? No? follow to step 2, if Yes. YOU WIN!
step 2:Blind, Stealth, Sap, repeat step 1
