Care to provide the link? Also sync groups in dragonflight drove lots of players away from pvp, so keep that in mind.
The forums won’t let me post links, but I found it on google or you could look on World of Warcraft’s X account for April 26.
As did ratings for gear in Slands, that’s why I think 10% isn’t unreasonable. Prior to Legion pvp instances were as popular as pve instances according to a developer, I wonder what percent participate in M+ and raiding now. I bet relative participation doesn’t reflect relative investment.
The loss of PvP servers probably had a lot to do with it too over time.
When you played on a PvP server (assuming roughly equal faction balance) PvP was kind of a way of life in many ways. A LOT of people played on PvP servers so even if they did mostly PvE content there was still a lot of participation in PvP.
But now with war mode most people probably never bothered to turned it back on when BFA went live. In fact I went half of the first day without war mode active because I had assumed it would be active since I (used to) play on a PvP server and me even finding the button was pure random chance.

At some point, we need to stop making things up. It doesn’t help persuade anyone.
And there is nothing wrong with PvP being the minority. That’s fine. Even 13% of the player base is a LOT of players. If we assume WoW has 5 million subscribers and only 13% choose PvP as their main activity, that’s still 650,000 players who mainly enjoy PvP.
650,000 is a lot of people. It just means we need to be realistic in our expectations and suggestions.
Who is making stuff up? Idk why you are such a toxic person. You should really look into that.
The fact that there hasn’t been much change. Kind of like buying Madden over and over, still sucks and has for a looooooong time!
Interesting! Not surprised by the results at all.
This is the kind of guy that would call someone a witch during the late 1600s, just to see them die…
I mean most of Arena players use scripts that play their chars. It’s only natural these are also used in BGs to farm gear/gold and perform impossible kicks and game play. There is more cheating in Retail than ever before.
Not to mention the other day in WSG we capped with 48 secs left to go up 1-0 but a Monk grabbed the flag ran up the wall and went across the map and capped with 38 secs left.
Well, do you have a link for this?
Apparently, we missed some
It’s Thaedreu on their 400th alt so yeah it is.
This bums me out for sure… Still if you think about it, that still means potentially that a lot more than 10% plays PvP at least. Even if it doesn’t define their character. My friend identifies as a m+ person but I drag them into pvp regularly
This goes along with a tweet holinka did in WOD or mop (been forever since I’ve referenced it so can’t quite remember lol)… But he said as many people play random BG’s as lfr (highest amount), as many play 2s as normal raid and as many do 3s as heroic raid (the least).
It’s in blizzards best interest to put some effort into PvP. It’s obnoxious how long they’ve completely ignored random BG’s hopefully blitz is popular and they actually remember to do some balancing and fixes
It’s weird to make stuff up to try and discredit someone.
I can’t post links and I can not find it but it was a survey back in season 1 of dragonflight.
How can any of this be a surprise??
Ion took over in 2016 and PvP has been neglected and is dying off. Everything, and I mean everything, is geared towards the m+ players to buy tokens for carry’s. look at the new dungeons! 3 bosses?? Tank pulls room
Mobs, aoe down. Super fast! The gold carry’s are going to be next level this xpac all in the m+ demographic. PvP is irrelevant. Ion made it that way. It’s pay-to-win now. That’s all that matters. Wow is a vending machine
Freydis is the shaman you started posted on, and you’ve posted on Nirazu too.
It’s not hard to check-pvp people.
