PvP Island Expeditions

The heroics pop pretty fast but it sounds like the PvP ones are dead

There’s no queu for PVP, you have to use premades, so there’s a bit of work there.

Yeah I meant PvP ones. I have a couple friends I run these things on so queue times aren’t an issue as we often do Mythic anyway, but we never really queue for PvP because the few times we’ve tried, there wasn’t even an average wait time.

But those cases were also at Lol o’ Clock in the morning during weekdays, so that’s not surprising.

Ya I know I just meant that there are always players solo queuing the heroics so you can do those but I’m not sure how many groups of 3 are doing the PvP ones

I think pvp islands have a lot of unused potential

the gameplay could be interesting, but I agree maps are a bit too large
reward drops are still lackluster compared to invested effort
the conquest is also too low

would be great if they dropped gear, or preferably gear on a dubloon vendor (hmm pvp vendor lol)

or even if they’d only give a massive amount of honor, so there’d be a reason to actually farm honor

idk, it’s just very lackluster from all sides while having a lot of potential

Agreed, I was really excited about the islands but pretty disappointed with their execution.

Smaller landmasses would help. Alternatively, just throwing in a few objectives that are extremely lucrative but contestable (they tried this with the extractors, didn’t really work) also helps with encouraging conflict instead of just PvE races.

Doesn’t help that each player caps at what, 250 Azerite at max stacks? That’s hilariously low especially considering how long that takes to ramp up - you can’t reasonably kill the enemy for an advantage and hunting them down even while you’re ahead just puts you farther behind.

Increased incentive to do them would help too. You basically can’t lose PvE expeditions but PvP ones don’t reward anything extra other than a tiny bit of conquest, and someone WILL lose.

It’s so frustrating that they are so close to being a viable and fun activity but they won’t give them the small amounts of attention they need. :frowning:

My class relies more than others on PvP talents. Guess what’s NOT enabled on PvP islands?

Really? Then they must’ve changed it. The last time I did PvP islands they were not enabled.

They’ve always been enabled, so it might have been a bug.

Was there still a vendor on the boat? If so you weren’t on a PVP island, the person who queued might have signed y’all up for Mythic, really bizarre (and annoying) thing that happened twice top me.

No they definitely weren’t. It’s the reason I never did the PvP ones again. Just search on Google and it yields a lot of complaint threads about this very thing on the old forums.

It must’ve been something they hotfixed in early.

Probably, because they definitely never announced this change, I waited every patch for it.

Good to know, though. I’ll definitely give them a shot now.

The September 5th Hotfix removed the use of Doubloons on PVP Islands so if I had to guess I’d say it was then.
