PvP gearing

Last I played was back in MoP, never did wod or legion. So take that into consideration. I know blizzard is trying to keep this game fresh and new in a market where mmo are shifting sort of. But for the life of me, i feel as though removing conquest and honor points to buy vendor gear was a bad idea on their end.

I remember you were allowed something like 2k points in conq and valour each week which you save up for those epic peices. We had i think was called pvp power that helped seperate the pvp and pve gear (though i do remember it wasnt perfect).

With that said is blizz trying to vye away from pvp gearing and get everyone to go pve to gear now? Or am i missing something in this bfa expansion. Aside from getting 1600+ in rating for a shot at rng 400 ilvl gear. (which are kinda flooded with ppl in 410 mythic gear it seem). As a person who loves pvp is my only option to pve in order to pvp? damn thats alot of p’s

P.s. didnt mean to make this sound like a complaint, just a confused and hopeless lil undead who hates pve >.<

Current lead designer told us in an interview that we’re not smart enough to save up conquest, so vendors are gone.

Ion has said in an interview (don’t have a link) where he stated that PvP gearing is equivalent to getting a participation prize and shouldn’t be awarded with the best gear. Clearly he has never done a +10 because that content is stupid easy and is basically free 400 ilvl, while you need to be 2100+ to get 400 PvP gear.

The reason they removed pvp vendors, according to them, too many players were buying the wrong trinkets / rings instead of a weapon so they felt we werent smart enough to handle vendors. This was WoD i think.

System still sucks because you can still select the wrong item now and then you’re still screwed because they don’t let you return it. It’s just a bad excuse to not give us vendors.

At least with the old one you had like 2 hours to return it if it was the incorrect piece.

I got you

It’s funny how everything he says has a direct counter point that would make the game better

i cant believe that was there excuse :face_vomiting:

Lore says only the extremely hard-core player base knew the correct order to buy their gear

When I joined the game back in MoP I was in a noobie pvp guild where 1550 was considered really good (not joking). Literally everyone in the guild knew to save conquest for their weapon on the second week and what order was the best to buy their gear. They explained this to me and it was super easy to understand. Literally anyone 1200xp+ understands how to gear

It’s actually wild that they had the audacity to give this reasoning while in the very next question they state how they are adding a way to target specific Azerite pieces (which were Azerite gear vendors).

Well, they’ve basically made it to where everything in the game is practically useless except for high-end raiding. It also seems that the majority of high-end players these days also encourage this behavior. I believe the response is “I don’t want to have to level a profession to be competitive in damage” or “leveling is not an important part of the game only rushing to max level and raiding” or “We’ve already done old world content 50 times, why do we have to make leveling a character take so long?”.

Then blizzard probably makes most of their money off new 60$ expansions. It’s a huge injection of money into the game. So every 2 years they are pressured to push for a new expansion whether or not the previous one is complete. They could give 2 craps about what we want, they want you to keep buying their fiery dragon mounts. They also don’t care about inflation of the auction house, they just want you to buy more wow tokens. Instead of doing arenas to get gear you could actually drop 2 million gold for a boe 415 piece of gear ya know.

I honestly thought the whole buying the wrong trinkets and rings instead of a weapon was a meme but oh my was i wrong
