SL honor gear is not progression, its straight up a waste of time. Probably harder to obtain at max IL than TBC honor gear and by the time you can even use it it’s completely obsolete. Thats the actual issue with PvP gear in 9.1, not wanting revamps or stat templates again.

Progression is what we had. Now we have a currency grind and a PVE requirement for pvp gear. We need to go back to the old system with 2 levels of gear and no upgrade PVE crap or currency grinds.

The ONLY good thing about it is that if you pvp to level up, you can buy all the S2 honor gear and upgrade a few pieces as soon as you hit 60.
You’ll still be vastly undergeared but at least it’s something.
I could gear up in randoms in every single expansion before SL. Now random gear sucks so i complain about SL pvp

Im playing this season with friends brand new to arena actually, and its better to keep their 227 IL with 15% vers than drop 20 ILs to get 25% vers. We’re being crushed by gear gap on top of the learning process because blizz literally timegated the only source of gear for newcomers for no damn reason because that gear is worthless to anyone that doesnt PvP or played last season.

I have been playing wow since WotLK (not a very long time compared to many other players). I still consider myself a casual player. But gearing for pvp wasn’t even an issue back then. It was not until BFA things started to change. Before, the proper way to gear up for pvp was simple. You do BGs to purchase honor gears and you push arena for conquest gears (ofc everyone knows). You are not required to do pve contents if you are a pvp player. It was a separate system, which was very balanced. You don’t even have to worry about upgrading your gear or being time gated. Every player would have the same access to pvp gears and be able to catch up eventually. It was just a matter of time. But this is not the case in SLs. If you want to put your character fully into pvp, you will face a tons of problem that many players have already pointed out on the forum.

Too much PVE required still and gating PVP starting honor gear is a mistake.
