PvP gearing is bad and not fun (HELP)

I understand the idea of the template system but tbh it makes no sense that a 890 warrior even stands a remote chance against my 960 main lock that I’ve put days and weeks and months into. I should be reducing him to absolute dust. Until he grinds like I did and is 960 as well. I don’t even get excited from gear anymore. I will admit, when I'm grinding out gear, it's great to see that my character is progressing and getting stronger with gear. I finish up a few BGs and I've now got enough for a head piece. I go purchase my piece and now I have my first PVP gear. But now I have to go back into BGs and get destroyed for the next few hours/weeks/months before I can play competively.

Keep the templates so the playing field is somewhat levelled. Increase stats as you do with each item level increase.


Templates are useless because the playin field isnt level and then templates makes gear and stats not matter and they dont care or bother adjusting these so its a useless system, these templates should have been adjusted weekly by whats too strong and whats too weak but yet we have things like destro locks and wws compared to something like bm hunter and combat rogues, atleast without templates maybe classes could be playable that they are too lazy to fix
Also this game is a mmo you shouldnt have a set power that takes so much fun out of puttin in the time and work to be stronger, we need all the good aspects of the game back maybe in a better way or reimplement the stuff that worked and add more, if bfa pvp is garbage i give up i refuse to slay damn dragons on a schedule its boring, learn the fight once and now ur a master at it, so scripted and lame, also im sick of giving this company money when they dont even care about all these ppl who wanna play it
2400+ cr getting lower ilvl gear than doing a simple +15. Feelslegionman

i just re subbed not long ago. not played since mop. i love to pvp and do very little pve but some. now i find out pvp gear is not chosen by me but slapped in my inventory at random from doing bgs and what not. and the gear is nothing compared to pve gear. and i get talents now for my honor points. that i can only use in pvp instances ?

Now you're going back to the whole mentality that we wanted to get away from, gear > skill.
who cares if gear>skill. like, if they homogenize everything in this game it will no longer be fun to pvp

At least with templates a fresh new 110 player can join a BG and be useful, won't die so quickly and can hit more than a wet noodle.
I do think that Blizz needs to pay attention and focus on balancing out their templates based on what's going in the meta. I hope they give it the attention in BfA or at least start on it it soon and focus on it going into BfA.

From there, if the implement or bring back gear acquisition, players can get stronger outside of PVP.

I care and so do many other players, this is why they've moved to skill > gear. But I do agree if they homogenize everything, the fun and uniqueness of every class / spec will be lost.
The first step is eliminating gear. The next is racials, then classes. Until it becomes a first person shooter.

Well it is practically World of Diablo already.
Absolutely must be addressed moving forward in BFA.

You can literally afk in LFR or Invasion points and get far better rewards.
Any way for us to calculate some preliminary numbers of participation this season? I want to see how dead the ladder is before participation increases during the last 2 weeks. I want to see what we are living with for 95% of the season. What's the TRUE "state of PvP"?

Yes, but also keep templates as we have right now in Legion to allow easy entry into PVP.

Come to think of it, do we really need conquest points? We just a method of acquiring gear for PVP which doesn't require doing PVE content.

Leave templates, if you want, but man, make our PVP Gear actually be something on WPVP! its like in our little lazer tag game we are bestial, but in real fights we fuking suck againgst PVE people, just because of the stats, trinkets and better gear. WTH.
I'm sure this sounds ridiculous but at the character select screen there possibly could be a choice to make. Either log into the pvp world or pve. And in said world, only that specific gear/abilities can be used. Soloque if you want, 10v10 what ever. Its only PvP. (Ima pvper) feel like raiding? Log and get in pve world.
This guys don´t really care at all about the PVP playerbase.
No thanks. I never want PvP to be locked behind months of honor grinding again. The honor talents are already a barrier that should be removed.

PvP should have an easy entry point with quick pick-up-and-go mechanics.
