I would like PvP if it was just that; player v. player. But it's not. It's gear v. gear. On top of that, there is a huge power difference between item levels.
WoD gear vs gear was way worse in randoms. Fresh leveled player vs max would be a one shot now lol
I maybe to get Templates instated on WPVP and Stanced PVP ? I mean they did that with WOD PVP Gear, (Scaling), i really won´t have an issue if they do this. It could be really fun.
The team wants gear to matter in PvP, but not to the point where you have no chance because someone has played more than you.
Really, now you want gear to matter. so what they're saying is pve gear will still kick @ss in pvp.
Would like to see WoD pvp gearing system return without ratings.
rating req for gear is bad and makes people not want to play.
they can't balance the classes and the strong get stronger.
gear still matters in legion, it is/was a misconception. weapons dont downscale.
the bonus % from ilevel is similar to honor gear vs conquest gear.
Expressed most of this in legion beta feedback with others and it was ignored.
Get smurtttttttt!!!!!
Pve to prepare for the next pvp season!
This is the Blizzard theme. Im pretty sure it will carry over to the next xpac considering thats the way it is now towards the end of this one
Also. If you played vanilla it was the same way. People who could grind the best pve gear could then grind to GM.
Its a rehash boys. They're putting lipstick on a pig.

I agree for the most part. And I think pvp gear should be stronger for pvp and pve'rs should not step in to pvp and do what they are doing now It's ridiculous.
I also agree that the Gear in WPVP should scale ONLY on PVP encounters, that was perfect, or just instate the freaking templates for *_____________* (Insert name of Deity in turn here) sake. It is so hiedous that now in WPVP you literally fear people who only do PVE, isn't that kind of sick?.
I only step into BGs when im really bored and no one wants to run m+, as a casual pvper the template system made it so I can just queue in my raid gear and be decent.
Coming from non MMORPG pvp games, I like the idea of having everyone on an equal footing wrt gear, since than you win with your abilities. In CS you win because you know the maps and strats, you can control your weapon spray, and the game rewards good play, even if you just have played alot of shooters, you dont just start off as a easy pickings.
The most pvp I did was in WotLK when I actually got the 1800 daggers on a rogue, and you just loved seeing someone with 20k HP on the other side of the arena, because they were a free kill, its also why blizzard does arena (or maybe did idk) arena servers.
The biggest complaint I ever had with pvp in LK was that PVE was still super duper valuable, remember the trinket from 25 man heigan that gave you hit and armor pen that in 3.0 was the worst war trinket, well in 3.1 having it was the difference between success and failure as a warrior in pvp, and thats ignoring the late expansion fun that was a double healer warrior team all rocking functioning legendaries. The need to PVE to be truly competitive in pvp always seemed to be there but not the other way around.
Right now I would prob do more BGs because I like the horde recolor of the antorus raid tier, but since its RNG boxes you might get at the end of a win, and you cant just farm up what you need, its basically a worthless thing to aim for, because I might just not be lucky enough, and since I spend 99% of my wow time raiding, there just isn't a point to even queue for anything unless I am just that bored.
Only thing that I would hate is if they made it so pvp gear was so competitive for pve you might need to farm it depending on spec and said gears stat distribution.
So is this only going to be addressed in BFA? Do we have to wait 7 more months for PvPers to actually enjoy PvP again? I know I'm getting my hopes up but man this is brutal.

And that's under the assumption BfA fixes things... in my experience, each new expac fixes one thing, while simultaneously messing up 2 more. It's rather frustrating for them to just ignore this, ESPECIALLY if these seasons are going long.
It's a joke that random battlegrounds award 870 gear. What is that equivalent to, normal dungeons?
Normal dungeons drop 845 ilevel gear.
Heroic dungeons drop 865 ilevel gear.
So lets quickly recap whats happened here, so no more time is wasted.
It's taken a
659 reply thread, with
+536 upvotes made by a Blizzard employed caster and
Blizzcon winner with a large twitch following -
2 months just to get a generic "were listing" reply (the first blue text in 4-5 months in the official WoW Arena forums) - by a forum CM, thanking us for our feedback while ambiguously referring to the
next expan$ion for changes, a mere 6-8 months away.
Absolutely no item level hotfixes or meaningful gear changes has come as a result of this post; not to mention there hasn't even been a lead pvp developer publicly appointed since the last one left 6 months ago.
But, we thankfully have a whole testing cycle ahead of us. Just like the WoD and Legion testing cycles and beta forums, where all our ranked pvp feedback went to good use & absolutely weren't neglected for Ashran or the casual honor leveling system threads.
Is any of the above information wrong? I'll gladly change it.

Well they are removing stat templates and giving back the Honor Vendor, on top of that they are giving us a lot more honor talents which unlock before level cap.
These are all a step in the right direction, I just hope we don't have to wait months for any change at all.

I think you extrapolated information that wasn't necessarily promised. The gear vendors weren't actually promised. They just made a reference to being able to pick stats again, and that the PvPers weren't happy with the current system.
As for removing the stat templates... They kinda are? but are switching to something that's highly similar, which is a scaling system from time walking that's going to keep people around 5-10% within the same power level... So diet stat templates anyone?
As for the honor talents, they said they'd give us 12, and let us pick 3, excluding the trinket options... That's actually less options than before. You probably thought they meant 12 per row, but that isn't what they said at all sadly. I definitely didn't hear them say the talents unlock before level cap either, I heard once you hit level cap you unlock them.
The gearing system for pvp in WoD (excluding Ashran) was by far the best thing for pvp to come from the entire expansion, which they then of course turned around and immediately scrapped in Legion.
Only thing that I would hate is if they made it so pvp gear was so competitive for pve you might need to farm it depending on spec and said gears stat distribution.
Now how you think PvPers feel right now just about any pve player can step into pvp and do good and In most cases do better than the pvp'rs.
Am I alone in feeling this way?
You are not alone, I started raiding for gear only, not fun, not friends, for gear! I am really stressed with how much time not pvping I have to do in order to do PvP.
Never had a harder time finding players low cr to 2k cr, than this Xpac. Takes more time to find players to group with than I can remember (starting in BC) you are really killing it for us working adults to keep playing WoW. Lost my GF's sub and my buddy who got me into this game already, I'm not far behind. If you care about $$ which I think we all know you do... I would get to work making changes.

Indeed, the state of WPVP is and will be deplorable for the next 8 to 10 months. This Xpac was a huge slap in the face to PVPers, thanks to Holinka mostly. I wish that they go back to MOP or WOD gearing system.
