Does it really matter? I have Conquest gear, but it isn’t properly itemized for PvE stuff.
I just wear it because I dread PvE.

Champion gear from all sources is the same item level range. What’s the issue here?

the “higher” score only exists in pvp specific zones or pvp instances.
Not even casual WM has had that function since SL.
So for any content that is not strictly pvp, it is not higher.

I’m sorry, I’m a bit confused. Conquest gear is Champ gear in PvE. The catch is you’re guaranteed to have one of the stats be Versatility. Vers isn’t useless but it’s rarely a stat any class or spec wants to max outside of PvP.
Any PvE item is likely better, even if it’s several Ilvls below.

I am pointing at minimum i629, that is more than hero level kind of item, in PvE term, and more of problem is, that is easily accessible. At least make it for top general of PvP, that will be fair.
…What? There’s no PvP item that goes up to 629 unless you craft it, which I don’t think anyone would burn an Enchanted Gilded Crest for it.
Unless you are saying that the Ilvl goes up in PvP instances, and only in PvP instances and suggesting it should be 629, which is also confusing.

Pvp players need ilvl to do quests and world quest
PvP gear scales up whenever PvP is happening or likely to happen by being flagged anywhere near another flagged player of the opposite faction (or even the same faction when it comes to duels or the FFA areas), even outside the designated PvP WQ areas and instances.
The accrue is at wholesale price, and that is not exciting.
Bring back elites, that what makes vanilla WOW exciting.
619 is the maximum, which is 8/8 champion and requires spending crests to upgrade. Any champion track, raid, dungeon, delve, open world drop, or Conquest gear. The next highest is crafted PvP pieces at 610, then Bloody token veteran gear at 606. Conquest gear caps… Whatever 3 ilvl below veteran 1 is I think. It’s explorer track.
You’re just not right about the ilvl.

Bud, I have full conquest/crafted pvp gear and my item level is 600… I can take a fresh lvl 80 and get higher than that in less than a day doing solo pve content. What are you even talking about?

Everyone points that PvP instance gives buff to those that attune to it. That is not interesting. Does it interest you?

Uhh… I wouldn’t call it interesting. It’s useful, because it lets PvP gear not be actually useless in PvE environments. Is your complaint that the PvP item level is too high?
PvE gear should never be good for Pvp just like how PvP gear shouldn’t be good for PvE.
