PvP Gear Ilvl

Just saw blue post on wow head. Not sure if this is old news, but challenger ilvl will be 213 ilvl and top end ilvl will be 226.

“For example, we’re currently targeting item level 213 for Challenger-level PvP, Heroic raiding, or Mythic Keystone dungeons at the +7 difficulty.”

Since their comparing it to m+7 I’m going to guess then they mean from weekly rewards not end of matches. Just for clarification.

I guess that would make more sense, but i thought everything was coming off the vendor now.

Edit: Saw you said weekly chest lol

What does unranked drop? Asking for a friend :sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

233 same as last 2 mythic bosses!

So it’s likely going to be 2400 rating for 226 end of week rewards?

There’s still pvp weekly it is just lumped into raiding/m+ for 1 big chest of disappointment. Also it should really be 213 ilevel for end of match. Heroic raiding is not as hard as blizzard amps it up to be. Especially how the more gear people get the more pvers can share their gear with others, whereas pvp can’t share still.

lol so blizzard not only doubled down on their philosophy that m15 is somehow equivalent to 2400, but in comparison to BFA they also made it so the weekly chest to get 226 (480 equivalent in BFA) was changed from 1800 to 2400? is that correct?

It was always 2400. 1800 = 465 but 475 azerite, 2100 = 470, 2400 = 475. But blizzards logic is any class/spec can hit 2400 and any spec/class can do an m15.

then it looks like absolutely nothing has changed from BFA other than a vendor and an underwhelming pvp trinket bonus.

amazing :slightly_smiling_face:

It honestly wouldn’t matter if they scaled up the gear in pvp. So honor = 213/220 ilevel, conquest = 226/233. If you want to include pvers so they aren’t disadvantaged just make it so blue gear =213/220 purple =226/233 and even make green gear = 200/207 or something then no need for hidden scaling.

Just hit 2400 problem solved???

They only changed the max ilvl Azerite armor to drop from 1800+, so ilvl 475 pieces. If you didn’t roll an Azerite slot in the chest the other pieces were still awarded at the appropriate 1800-2100-2400 ratings.

okay, I hit 2400 on my lock, then what about the other 10+ classes that I may want to randomly play?

The weekly loot box is basically just extra gear. It’s not meant to the main source of gear progression, but rather a supplement. So if you are doing PvP you will still be able to get your weekly conquest points and progress normally, but I would say expand your horizons to at least one other form of content as well whether it’s raiding or M+ to get a wider range of weekly loot.

Also, expect your alts to always be behind your main until your main is maxed out on gear. When your main is done the alts will eventually catch up, even if that’s near mid-end of season.

its looking like its more easy to just log in once a day for a M15 and a heroic raid and call it a day until my characters are geared - I thought blizzard would be more logical with their rating rewards, like around the 2000+ region for heroic equivalent gear, but looks like that is not the case (the season is inflated atm, unsure if it will return to something more inline with how it used to be in SL)

I would rather just not play than subject myself to doing content I dont want to, because I do not see myself getting 2400 on multiple characters, because I am just a casual pvper who likes to multiclass, but I guess thats not possible anymore since WoD, probably never will be, and I’ve never questioned my subscription to this game more than when im in a raid, so it is what it is.

They just posted that challenger weekly chest gear is heroic ilvl equivalent. Isn’t that only 1600?

I’d imagine at 2100 the end of game chance at loot will be on par or higher then drops from heroic. With damage values being so high it means less dampening games, quicker matches, and by association more games played for quicker inflation on the ladder.

good to hear about the weekly chest bit - did they not share what end of loot rewards would be per rating, or was it just guessing? would like to know if anyone has info

Jfc, I miss MoP. Lmao.
