I honestly wouldn’t have a problem with something like that again, then maybe having a separate queue (the sort XP Off players would use, and perhaps levellers would have the option of [for some reason]) where there is no level nor stat scaling. I think that’d be pretty fun.

Quality when it comes to twinks isn’t having BiS gear, Having BiS gear is step one of being a twink.
He doesn’t q wargames in any active bracket - He’s a quantity guy that spam makes twinks then shelfs them.

There’s also wargames twinks could organize like they say they have np doing where the damage scaling isn’t there. This would keep everyone in the same queue, but damage would be scaled. And the twinks who don’t like it, too bad. But at least they would get BGs as well.

Right, and in a scaled environment, organisation and communication is key.
… Or maybe classes to some degree, but we can cross that bridge later. Either way, I’m all down for an actual competitive environment when levelling.
I’m also a dedicated twink player and let me assure you, JWL doesn’t need speak for all (or even a healthy portion) of the twink community. So allow me to counter.
placing twinks in their own BGs has been tried and it was a miserable failure for both twinks and people leveling through pvp.
It killed twinking, which you guys don’t really care about BUT it also saw tons of people making twinks and afk’ing the BG right at the end to avoid the xp. It also gave rise to the phenomena of people just recreating and deleting and recreating and deleting a character as it leveled out of twink brackets.
Regular ol folks wanting to pvp on their way to end game went from complaining about us to complaining about heirlooms and enchants and enchanted heirlooms. They complained about consumables, about premades… whatever.
Point is, this is not the solution you’re looking for.
The solution is not to put twinks in their own BGs but rather to simply disable enchants and weapon/gear procs in instanced pvp. It’s a “Legion templates” approach without completely forcing stats on you.
This allows twinks to work for and get a gear advantage but without things like crusader and elemental force and the like, the damage output isn’t insane, it’s just slightly better. You’re still gonna lose to a twink, but you’ll probably at least feel like you had a fighting chance and honestly, that’s what makes it fun.

Yea, this is the other problem. Ilvls are on par with twink gear/heirlooms, it’s certain enchants (like Mauden’s ss of a player with 200+ int) increasing power of the gear. Another good solution than just removing some players from the queue.
It wasn’t enchants. It was gems.

I have to be honest here, I doubt that was happening too commonly. You also get experience in increments throughout the BG after all. And a lot of folk–myself included–have twinks of our own. It’s not a matter of not caring about the twink, it’s about caring for what’s right for everyone all around. At least I’d hope so.
A step in the right direction without doubt. We were touching on this just a bit ago, you might’ve been typing when we were. But yeah, something with equalising stats or at least lowering the disparity gear causes in levelling brackets.

He speaks for the twinks who put effort into their characters (typically over years) and would prefer a challenge for their efforts. He doesn’t speak for drive-by bracket rerolls who strive to farm levelers.

Even at ilvl 336 at 120 in wpvp i can heal like no tomarrow druid itselfnis able to be very op because of what the class can do and what its capable of. I wpvp all the time its amazing what a druid an do it has nothing to do with being level 10 or being level 120. Esp in instanced bgs .
Who also was excited about a whole 18 twinks on horde at prime time. That’s not even 2 games worth. There are other solutions than isolating some players, considering not everyone plays at prime time

Feels like the more we all discuss this (when it’s productive cough), the closer we get back to the templates I was told were used in Legion. Which I do understand why some would like and some would dislike. Having an option between the two to some degree would be very nice.

entirely true. I HATED templates on low levels, haste restriction made low level Spriest literally unplayable etc, the list goes on and on. But offering a controlled BG and also a wild-west wargame feature seems pretty solid.
