PvP Damage Reduction Test #2 - May 3

they are nerfing shaman by 3 different ways with this .

20% phys dmg reduced
30% spell dmg reduced
20% healing reduction

is this not enough for you guys?

you just want to gut them as revenge nerf for a phase ago and not taking into account current balance.

Thoughts on the patch from a warlock perspective:

Did 4 consecutive games playing as the 4 major lock specs (Destro, NF/Ruin, Affliction, Soul Link)… can watch them on my youtube channel.

  • Dots are possibly still a touch strong in general… Across the board. Shadow, Balance, Elemental, and Warlock.

  • Destro… didn’t feel great… Even an incinerate buffed triple crit (which is exceedingly rare) on chaos/immolate/conflag only netted 3k damage. There where also mana issues popping up from having to spam cast. The patch mentioned destro spell piercing absorbs being removed and maybe that could come back.

  • Soul Link probably ended up about right… It’s damage is pretty terrible, and it was no where near as tanky as it was last weekend when solo, BUT, when it had a healer, it stayed up pretty well.

  • Pets don’t seem to get any damage reduction… That needs a hotfix. One SWP dropped my pet on a rez, because pets both save all debuffs between rezzes, AND spawn with like 1/4 hp when you rez… Fix your game plz.

this DR is still way too high, people enjoy doing damage with their abilities

if you want to balance the game maybe try targetting the classes you wanna balance

a blanket DR will never accomplish balance

the amount of lazy anti-fun moves from these devs is mind boggling

are you serious? DR is a shaman buff, it’s a buff to every class with durability and self sustain and pure dps classes get screwed over

the sustain is nerfed by 20% also btw.

from all of tbc to wotlk bis pvp always included mixed raid gear

Ok, so I went ahead and tested this.

I think it’s generally pretty good, the only change I would make would be
What we have
but with 30% damage reduction across the board instead of 20%/30%. (The melee are doing stupid amounts of damage too.)

And then give a flat extra 20% Stam when PvP flagged.

what do you mean you tested it, youre just making up numbers like the devs, and you want MORE DR? You want to do even less damage? Do you people hate fun?

Haven’t tested but you’re very much on to something. It’s not that melee damage is weak, we all know from pve they’re busted, it’s just that melee toons need to be alive to do their melee damage while no damage reduction casters can just dunk on em from 30-40 yards. Any damage reduction is a buff to melee (little less comparatively sham because they had enough utility to fight the good fight pre reduction)

Making sure I don’t have any option of being bored at some time and logging back on.

I’m sick of the game changing every week. Developers should know this. Obviously servers will be merging soon.

I played several BGs
As BM, as MM, as Enh, and as Ele

The fights are lasting longer without being so long that it’s impossible to take a point, but melee is still doing too much damage. (I have a couple of Midling weapons and I still crush faces with them having little time to respond.)

I want fights to be fights, not deletions. (And I say that as one who played one of only 2 specs that could do that in Vanilla…)

If “pvp happened on a pvp server” its in line with everyone who keeps that talking point going.

No they are not. Most melee have to get to the target to do any kind of damage. And most melee are taking damage the whole time they are chasing down a target. So you think they should just do 0 damage when they finally connect?

only 2 Specs? Hunter, mage, shaman, rogue, lock, can all global people easily. Feral can one shot with ravage. Wars can global entire groups with ss whirlwind crits. Ret can global with reckoning. What version of vanilla did you play? only 2 specs…lmao

This is absolutely soul crushing. I was planning to push for rank 7 this weekend with AB weekend coming around and instead i’m a holy paladin with the gimpiest heals just watching as shamans en mass are lavaburst + chain lightning insta gibbing my entire team and there’s only so many globals to cleanse flame shock AND try to slip a heal in…

Geared decent and getting a 400 heal out of flash, when people are throwing out three to four times that in damage in the same amount of time is horrid.

The burst is what’s out of control, there’s no attrition and obviouslyt with the weekend "changes’ it neutered everything but the dev’s favorite class, shaman. (We see how many of you are playing them in SoD by the way, it’s pretty clear)

YOu need to tune the burst by moving lava shock combo damage to the flame shock and off the lava burst “burst” and force some sort of reduction in chain lightning when using lavaburst some sort of elemental “damage reduction” that works opposite eclipse for boomkin. Force them to weave a lightning bolt in between to give us a chance to cleanse, or heal, or ANYTHING instead of just getting globalled

DOTS keeping people from being healed with no way to cleanse them is purely atrocious with this design. Either they shouldn’t be calculated against the healing lockout, or they should be given a way to get rid of out of combat.
