imo it actually feels ok in the context of extra stam in BG, but I could see how it might seem a little unwarranted in the overworld

You can cleanse dots. How are they “keeping you from being healed”? You can dispel flame shock before the shaman lava bursts… it is a 30 yard range…Where are you standing?

So move all the damage to flame shock that has a 24 yard range which can be dispelled and make lava burst do no damage?
Force a debuff to further reduce the damage that is already reduced by 30%? How much of a BUM are you? Ele shams are all about burst what on earth are you crying about?
Lava burst has a cool down… They can’t just sit there and spam lava burst over and over again… Flame shock is on the gcd you can easily cleanse it before they get a chance to cast the lava burst. Every ele sham literally casts lightning bolt and chain lightning in between lava bursts.
I have literally been going 50/50 all day as horde and it what you say is true I should have a 100% win rate

Who is ONE shotting? Are you getting globald by 5 classes attacking you at the same time and then crying about it?
That doesn’t sound like classic to me. A global resilience aura that affects everyone is a better solution. The net effect is like how pvp gear in retail scales up in ilevel to match raid gear so that they are both good to use.
shamans still do about 1k crits with LB and CL
hunters still do about 1.5k crits with AS and CS

There comes a time when punishing all classes in order to not admit the real problem chases players away from the game. The only problem here is the gross imbalance Shamans have over their Alliance counterpart.
To prevent burst damage deaths, increase ALL classes total health in WPVP and Battlegrounds in order to negate the speed of death and allow for healers and class abilities offset the difference.
Conduct a 10 v 10 comparison between Elemental and Enhancement Shamans and Ret Paladins. Evaluate damage output, burst damage, AoE potential, and self-healing capabilities. Ensure balance between the classes, considering offensive dispel and totem abilities. <–that last bit is a huge offset!
Your approach to this “fix” is to include all classes in the balancing when this is all caused by one class that only the horde have access to with no real comparison on the Alliance side. Leave healers and other classes out of the next round of balancing and focus on the gross imbalance the Shaman class has over the Paladins. Addressing this directly renders the rest of the adjustments unnecessary.

Open world you should b dying regardless if you get jumped while fighting mobs so…
Current raid gear is bad stat wise compare to level 60 raid gear that actually has stamina.
You know its bad when they have to say it was too strong twice in a row
the people that are whining saying we are not test subjects blow my mind, sod is literally a test server. what they should be mad at is not tuning shamans down. yesterday they were still critting lava burst for 1700. but other than that trying these things out is a good thing. At least they are trying to fix pvp instead of completely ignoring it. pvp is GREAT time filler when you have down time its extremely important that its fun so people dont hate it. also add arenas into sod plz its my favorite part of the game
These nerf test should be nerfed! All they do is make classes and specs that weren’t on top even worse. They just ensure a meta, but maybe slightly changed what is meta. It is so bad to blanket nerf everything thinking it is a needed fix…
These changes were a joke. Giving melee a lesser damage reduction is a joke.
Certain classes need a higher damage reduction. Others need less. This blanket approach is just bad.
And do something about shaman…
Add reliance to the pvp gear. That’s all you bloody need to fix this atrocious oversight.

In original 60 and classic 60, druids could do this. Druids have always been a slippery class thats hard to catch and kill.
