PvP Class Tuning Incoming - March 11

The following PvP class adjustments will arrive with scheduled weekly maintenance (March 11 in this region). We will continue to monitor and tune class combat in PvP and PvE as necessary in the weeks to come.

Player versus Player

  • Will to Survive and Gladiator’s Medallion now share a 60 second cooldown for healer specializations (was 90 seconds).
  • Druid
    • Restoration
      • All healing increased by 5% in PvP combat.
      • Ancient of Lore (PvP Talent) damage reduction increased to 30% (was 20%).
      • Ancient of Lore’s Mass Blooming cooldown reduced to 7 seconds (was 8 seconds).
  • Evoker
    • Preservation
      • Dream Breath healing increased by 20% in PvP combat.
  • Hunter
    • Marksmanship
      • Tensile Bowstring reduces the cast time of Aimed Shot by 25% in PvP combat (was 50%).
      • Unerring Vision increases your critical strike chance by 5% (was 10%) and critical strike damage by 10% (was 20%) in PvP combat.
    • Survival
      • Developers’ notes: The one-shot potential with Flanking Strike was too devastating, so we’re reducing its damage and distributing that damage to the rest of the kit for Survival.
      • Flanking Strike damage reduced by 30% in PvP combat.
      • All spell and ability damage increased by 4% in PvP combat.
      • Spearhead increases critical strike chance by 15% in PvP combat (was 30%).
      • Deadly Duo increases your critical strike damage by 15% in PvP combat (was 30%).
  • Mage
    • Fire
      • Frostfire: Severe Temperatures is now 50% effective in PvP combat.
      • Frostfire: Frostfire Empowerment now increases damage done by 15% in PvP combat (was 36%).
  • Monk

      • Power Word: Radiance healing reduced by 10% in PvP combat.
      • Archangel now increases the healing of Evangelism by 15% (was 30%).
      • Penance damage and healing reduced by 10% in PvP combat.
      • Oracle: Premonition of Solace absorption reduced by 25% in PvP combat.
      • Developers’ notes: We are increasing the power of Void Blast while keeping its Atonement healing the same. Oracle has been a widely popular pick for its versatility and our goal with this change is to give Voidweaver greater opportunities to shine when they are able to get consecutive Void Blast casts in.
      • Voidweaver: Inner Quietus is now 25% more effective in PvP combat.
      • Voidweaver: Void Blast damage increased by 30% in PvP combat.
      • Voidweaver: Void Infusion is now 60% effective in PvP combat.
    • Holy
      • Divine Hymn healing increased by 80% in PvP combat.

      • Smite damage increased by 80% in PvP combat.
  • Rogue
    • Subtlety
      • Developers’ notes: We’re making a few significant changes to Subtlety’s damage modifiers that when stacked together can cause very high burst damage. Our goal for these changes is to decrease the maximum output, but increase the consistency of Subtlety’s burst windows. We would like to ensure that they are a threat even without all these modifiers present, but have their high-end output capabilities be more in line with damage expectations.
      • Finality now increases finisher damage by 8/15% in PvP combat (was 15/30%).
      • Shadow Blades now duplicates finishers at 10% effectiveness in PvP combat (was 15%).

      • Eviserate damage increased by 25% in PvP combat.
      • Secret Technique damage increased by 10% in PvP combat.
  • Shaman
    • Elemental
      • Developers’ notes: We are shifting some of Elemental’s damage out of overloads and into core abilities to increase sustained damage and reduce Elemental’s reliance on overloads for kill power.
      • Elemental Overloads now deal 60% reduced damage in PvP combat.
      • Mastery: Elemental Overload’s increase to Physical and Elemental damage is now 30% more effective in PvP combat.

Could you please make deserter account wide for PvP battlegrounds? Wintergrasp, Ashran, and IoC are almost unplayable sometimes due to mass quitting after the first encounter.

I 2nd this. It’s outrageously frustrating!

Too much damage for healers to catch up and the fix is to lower healer trinket cd even further instead of bringing all healing specs to an even playing ground?

I think if they do something about the queue sync premades that would help with some of the leavers.

4% overall dam for compensation for SV seems really low. Flanking def hits a bit hard rn with pack leader but 30% honestly seems like too much. And what are those rogue changes lol

Some exceedingly strong specializations like marksmanship hunter were barely touched.

I hope these changes were made with post-RWF pve changes in mind too. Otherwise MM is still way too strong in pvp.

Embarrassingly out of touch tuning. Start listening to your multi r1 QA testers. MM deserved a lot more than a mini slap on the wrist. Many specs caught completely unwarranted nerfs, just despicable.

Good to see disc nerfs. Would prefer buffs to the other heals instead but i will take this as a resto shaman

That’s all?

A 5% healing buff is defnitely better than nothing, but it won’t go very far! Our HoTs need to heal for more because right now we barely move health bars with anything other than cooldowns.

Edit: I’d go for many other structural suggestions like a better hot dispel protection or too many GCDs still required to do anything meaningful, but Idk if I can expect something like that via a tuning pass and best bet is praying for just flat buffs. Hopefully there’s more meat in the 11.1.5 PTR.

This really shows how out of touch they are with pvp. Rogues are already the best class by far in the game. They have 2 immunities, 1-2 restealths which are pretty much an immunity. They do the most damage on top of the most crowd control out of any class The fact I sit 15+ seconds of cc and not able to even play my character and I’m out of combat that long he can resap me is rough. Every team is running at least 2 rogues this season and last season shows in RBGS. I know y’all really don’t care about pvp but there are still some of us left. Rogues should not be getting buffed and should be getting nerfed. They have way too much to their kit and whoever is in charge of rogue shows how biased they are to the class.

Dear Blizzard,
You did this in TWW Season 1, DF 1, 2, 3 and you’re doing it again. WHY ARE YOU IGNORING DEMO WARLOCKS?

We are hard casting and getting war, ww, dh, hunter, and mage kicked all day long.
Our hard casts (at 1.5 seconds) still hit like we have demons with no claws or fangs.
No one uses Vile Fiend or Gloom/Fire hounds anymore… why? 1.5 second cast, 2 second animation, leap (1 sec in the air) and here is the beauty - THEY MISS sometimes, or it gets better, they stop animation leap if the opposing player goes behind a pillar or goes out of range and the walk (not stprint, not leap, they WALK to get in range and once again restart their animation) THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE BETA!!! Why are you dumping on Demo Warlocks. Is it not enough that they have to hard cast everything, WHILE Standing STILL, and have no capacity to shrug off huge melee damage with as many Defensives as possible?

Imps hit for 2-4k, Hounds hit for 200k (each) every 2 seconds, Fel guard can be CC;d the whole match, SUmmon Tyrant and doomguard walk and can be LOS

Now look at BM hunter… Pets moving everywhere all day, breaking cc’s with a simple heal (all of them and not just one or two), Flying postal out the gate when summoned.

And here is the real hate: Demo is D Tier currently in Shuffle and Blitz… Its not invited in Mythics still, and does well in normal and heroic dungeons (relative to the other players),

FIX this class like you promissed in DF Beta… its been two years and we had one reasonable season.

If you are some tier player and feel the need to comment about skill, go ahead… but the rest of the player population is stuck being brutalized, again!

Why does blizzard hate PVP Prot Warriors?

Are you sure the world feels safe enough from the 7 people playing Prot Warrior after that last set of beatings from the nerf bat?

At the very least you need to adjust Dragon Charge so that instead of replacing Heroic Leap it shares a cooldown with Charge. This would put it line with how Demonic Trample shares a cooldown with Infernal Strike for Vengeance DH.
