What the fel is going on? I havent had pvp que pops in over a month… only the 19 bracket and the endgame bracket actually have any bgs going on… Blizzard please fix this. Offer greater xp/gold/possible gem bag rewards or something… get these battleground brackets back online. Stop splitting up the playerbase like mad with SoD, SoM, Pandaland, Cata, Era, Modern… dude seriously there isnt enough people to properly populate any of this. A ton of us didnt even want to move on into Cata, and now there isnt enough people to play those characters properly… please for the love of all that is sacred do something. Idc if you allow bots just to populate the brackets… but make it playable please
Sorry that people don’t want to get roflstomped but your twink?
Clearly you havent played cata leveling brackets… in wrath you would be completely right and I get it… but in cata the classes were tuned and the stats were slightly altered. Levelers can actually kill me depending on the class if Im not on my toes.
In wrath I was brokenly op for my level, yes. In cata im maybe 25-30% more dangerous than they are. If they are trying at least. Cata is actually the best pvp expansion for non twinks. The 19 bracket isnt a good example because of how high a twink can get in relation to non geared folks… but the 60 bracket is dicey even for 60 twinks.
Which people still don’t want to deal with.
The twinks that know how to play their class are still dominating.
If you’re looking for things to bully with your overpowered gear, there are plenty of world mobs that you should be capable of one-shotting in the open world.
No one is going to queue BGs so they can entertain someone else who invested many resources into their character for the sole purpose of camping others in leveling BGs.
The 81-84 bracket is where all the twinks are anyway
Turns out getting full cata dungeon blues is a ridiculous spike in power compared to what people are usually wearing
Yeah just hit lvl 64 with basic greens and dungeon gear and you are pretty much as dangerous as I am… some classes even more so. Ret pally is completely unviable, and prot pally is janky in a bad way in this bracket… all I can do is heal. There are -way- more terrifying things than me in that bracket if people would actually give it a try. Rogues are a nightmare, death knights slap me for over half my hp with little effort, and priests are pretty decent. Hunters are terrifying no matter what level they are now that they can shoot and move.
Im not here to roflstomp folks, I’m here for a fight, for a challenge… its why its a 60 and not a 64, or a 69 (who are psychos really). What matters is playing as a team… which folks dont do anymore, they just zerg everything they see like raving lunatics lol. I might be strong for my level, but im far from what I was in wrath. I just love playing this character because its my trophy toon… t3 ashbringer and lots of fun stuff, but its not as dangerous now as you would think.
Make more people spend more time leveling alts and queuing BGs while doing so?
Why not just like… play the end-game content?
Because im one of the folks that wanted Cata to never happen. When it became obvious that it was going too I was one of the folks that begged for a character copy to a wrath server or the ability to choose to just stay in wrath.
I have no issue with folks that wanted cata, im glad yall got your game. But I was robbed of mine and I dont want anything to do with it… unfortunately all my beloved characters I poured thousands of hours into are now forced to be in this expansion, and I dont want to abandon them and the investment, even if playing cata depresses me something awful.
OK. So… don’t play it. Go do something else?
It’s not an investment at all. That’s absolutely not what investment means. It’s a valueless waste of time. If you enjoyed yourself while wasting that time, then it was probably better than some non-digital substance abuse, but maybe not by that much.
Stop playing it then! It’s OK to not play Cata. There are other things to do, and a very limited amount of time in life to do them.
Investment of time, energy, lost hours of sleep, using up my social battery organizing 40 people into a cohesive raid team week after week after week for months on end, account cost, internet cost, electricity expenditure. I invested quite a lot for the return of having achieved my classic wow dreams, and hoped that I would be able to enjoy the fruits of that labor and cost for a long while… only for it to be invalidated by being forced into an expansion that I never wanted or expected to be stuck with, with a rapidly dropping playerbase and no one my level to enjoy playing with. Im sorry but I am a bit disappointed with the outcome of events. I have every right to voice that disappointment as well as ask for solutions and suggest possible ones that may help, same as you.
If this is the hill im dying on, let me die on it lol
Sure. I’m not saying you shouldn’t be, nor am I attempting to deny you disappointment.
Whether you feel you “invested” or not, it was merely a complete waste of time, not something that would result in a positive gain at the end.
If you enjoyed the journey, then great. If you were expecting that to lead to some pot of gold, well you duped yourself; may as well get out now, instead of wasting any more time thinking it’s leading anywhere - it’s an online video game that amounts to no real value or benefit to anyone other than you enjoying spending your time playing it.
If you are no longer enjoying your time playing it, then go do something else.
If you are just saying, “I don’t like Cata. I like Wrath and want to play Wrath.” Then cool. I hear ya. A few other people also seem to say that sort of thing.
Oh, okay. It isn’t clear to me what hill it is or why you’re choosing to die on it, but good luck bro!
I guess finally people got sick of twinks like it happened on retail…
Just stop. Twinks have always said things like this. People pop in to a BG to break up the monotony of leveling and there they get facerolled by people with full enchants and level BiS gear then the twinks are shocked that no one will queue.
It’s not even about twinks or non twinks. It’s about PvP brackets in general being at an all time low in population and participation.
Splitting the already declining player base into multiple game modes (SoD, Classic, Cata, Retail, Panda/Plunder) has killed PvP in general. And has made what remains even less balanced and not enjoyable.
It was a dumb design choice. If you have 10k PvP players and you give them 5 different game modes to play in, then ALL game modes suffer because the available player pool for each decreases. Let’s say it’s 2k each (for example)… instead of 10k in one game, such as retail, now the PvP player base is fractured into 5 different games at 2k each.
What are the chances if I’m leveling in one of those 5 modes that I get a mid-level range random bg to pop? Very unlikely now, due to the further fracturing of that player base. It isn’t rocket science and I can’t imagine that Blizzard isn’t aware that this would kill PvP overall in ALL their game modes now.
WoW PvP is dead now. GG Blizz.
companion PvP coming up!!
They have the technology and scripting to do “decent” AI PvP, as we see in Retail’s Comp Stomp mode. The only way to save PvP in general at this point is with Blizzard AI bots.
Imagine, if you will… 3 players are in queue for Warsong in CATA 35-39 bracket. You fill the rest with those AI bots, and those 3 players join in and can have some fun in a bg. May not be the best thing as far a challenge, but it at least respects the player’s (waiting) time and their desire to do some PvP on the toon and in the bracket they love.
EZPZ fix. Do it.
Just play 81-84. It still gets 40 man pops in prime time and also wintergrasp.
I don’t think it’s quite that zero sum pie. There certainly are people who play multiple game modes.
Many people, myself included would play the twink brackets again if they were active. I think it’s just, no one wants to invest the gold and time into a twink if the brackets dead so the movement is at a standstill atm. Back in OG Cata ™ we had like 5 minute 19 bracket queue pops, and like 6 major guilds with over 200 players each and had monthly competitions for prizes. I think the annual twink cup awarded the winning guild like a grand or something.
The events were streamed and thousands watched, it was about as close to Esports as WoW ever got honestly.
It was really only after the dumpster fire that was Legion was dropped did twinking start to become less popular, but it never went away entirely.
80 to 84.99990 are doing rdf.
It’s dungeon blues to replace trash greens from wrath leveling to the 80. At 84 you can see the good dungeons that drop good gear to help on 85 ding.
It’s Nice xp. And if not burned up, justice points for a bonus.
And it’s not getting stomped by twinks.
Maybe you get some in the 80 to 84.9999 wg. It’s not quality pvp. It’s small hits of honor to be 4000 at 85 lol. I’ve seen 15 versus 7 matches. Interesting is one word for that.
My leveler is already 2000. So she is on a good path to be 4000 by ding. I have her sleeping at an in till weekly reset. I like the 7 hits of justice points. She can rest for that final push to 85.
And I have the horde 60 ish. Who actually quests. I need fel iron for her smithing. I see that out and about. And I want the scorpion guild mount. So I quest to get rep. Sometimes questing has its benes.
