Except no other mode has significantly suffered quite as much as low level BGs. Queue times are literally fine for everything else.
It’s twinks. It’s always been twinks.
And now, with LFD and the quest revamp, there is literally no reason for anyone to subject themselves to the twinks found in a leveling BG. And, as we know, twinks won’t play against other twinks, so the brackets have died.
ironic… i remember when the Cataclysm first launched and they made twinks their very own xp-off bracket.

I’d happily shift 2k packages to not die like a muppet in 60 to 70. I’d pay 500 gold for a full 60 to 70 pvp set. Make it even 1500 gold full brutal for 70 to 80. That is like 2-3 days of tol barad runs depending on what greens for sales drop. I am there anyway.
It’s not an option. So it’s rdf. Content that if rng likes you gears up way faster.
You say this and yet 81-84 gets 40 man BG pops every day. It gets normal BG pops 24/7 (although horde does get faster queues).
You had Better luck than I. I signed up for av weekend and got lots of questing done.
No av pops in an hour I’d just go back to rdf or questing,

look up sunk cost fallacy, also it was pretty obvious they were going to keep the classic gravy train rolling and cata would be coming, not sure what you expected. I get that you are upset and want to vent and that’s fine, but accept reality at some point because cata has arrived either way.

I havent touch any of the leveling pvp brackets on any alts this expansion because I knew the same twinks that are on the horde would rush to do the same thing that they did back in wrath…
Now all my alts are 84 and they wont set any foot on any twink dominated bgs… it’s so inefficient exp wise…
I think the main problem are the level 80 boosts. People are just buying the boosts so they don’t have to level, and Blizz took away the xp buff. More people would level alts if boosts weren’t a thing.
Maybe people want to just quickly level and get to cap where the game is fun for them. Maybe people just aren’t interested in getting stomped by premades while leveling?
It would be nice if brackets still stretched 10 levels. Breaking up the brackets means there’s just too many to get queues.
It also seems like the majority of the Classic playerbase has no interest in low level bgs. This is not an issue on Retail where they always pop (aside from maybe the Epic queue).
PVP is dead and will remain dead until blizzard decide to let people have free pvp gear.
Twink vs Twink pvp was very active during wotlk classic in the 79 bracket. I spent 99% of the wotlk classic experience playing in the 79 bracket with other twinks. We even have a discord server to coordinate so we could all queue together and so that teams of all twinks would face off for competition. I know a few other guys on this forum who participated in this throughout Wrath classic.
I twink solely because I dislike the carrot-on-a-stick design of MMOs and I like to farm 1 set of gear and use that throughout the expansion, twinking in the 79 bracket and joining a twink guid and twink discord allowed me to do that. Other people in the 79 twink scene play for similar reasons - we dont even like queueing against regulars, which is why we premade twink vs twink matches, its way more fun.
I plan to do the same at 84.
Like I stated before, twinking in cata is not a big advantage beyond the lvl 19, and the 81-84 brackets… the gear and stat difference is just too huge. I just want to enjoy playing, idc if its against pvp programmed bots of varying difficulties. I enjoyed old SW Battlefront games… wow could do that and make it fun.
But I would rather blizzard increase the rewards for non xp capped players. Give us twinks just the standard rewards… give the levelers extra gold, a bag of useful items like from rdf… or bonus honor. Or all 3. It would inject life into low level pvp brackets right away, and we can all have our battles!

But since there are paid boosts now also this time around, thats probably part of it.
but remove the paid boosts, and remove twinking from leveling bg brackets (no xp off feature or if you do you are a separate queu – and bg’s give xp) and you would get a vibrant pvp while leveling again.

I’d just do leveling twinks like I did a while back. Had even more fun than with a regular twink honestly. I’d enchant some of the BOA gear and also use white gear with enchants, and sometimes greens/blues I got for cheap.
I queue on both factions at the same time with 2 accounts. I’ll get a pop on my horde, finish the BG and my ally on the other account is STILL in queue lol.
Definitely a pvp population imbalance due to alliance being the go-to faction for end game pvp.
My horde leveler had no hits late 50 or 60 ding either.
RDF took over. The mystery here…demystified.
See long ago when there were the threads about twinks…the twinks would come in and say 1 of 3 things.
Git gud. Not sure how one got good as a fresh 50 against a naxx 60 twink, but whatever.

So for later TBCC then wrath, many did option 2. We dealt with it. Bg anywhere was nice instance hits to break questing monotony if we were not getting dungeon runs. The tradeoff for many was being farmed in wsg’s gone to hell.
Cata has rdf. Many now take option 3. Leave BG. its not as needed for xp or to break up quest boredom. RDF meets that need.
Earlier this week as dps my BE paladin ran 60 to 70 in 2 nights of play. the dungeons jsut kept popping.
She will get more than ample time to play in TBC’s bg eye of the storms. At level cap.
I actually like that one. At level cap. I even like the retail brawl modified one with gravity shifts. Spices it up nicely, imo.
