PvP as affliction feels.... just... awful

Like holy crap the amount of holes and tuning this spec needs to be viable in this meta is mind boggling

been leveling up my affliction in bgs so I can buy honor gear once i hit 60.

1 school of magic for all my CC and damage, so if you get kicked thats it.

Every single one of affl’s damage CD’s is on the GCD. Like WUT? A DoT spec’s cd’s are on the GCD??! Meaning that to even set up to DO damage takes like 3-4 GCD’s of popping cooldowns? And then you have obscene cast times for UA nad MR?

just feels horrible to play in this meta when melee trains just sit on you and destroy you and you have no answer to it.

Even the voidwalker pet doesn’t have a good sacrifice anymore? Like wut?

How is this ok? Night fae teleport + portal + gateway feels really nice, it really does, but getting any sort of significant damage out on any sort of competent team or players is exceedingly difficult.

Even if i load up with dots, extend them with the Darkglare, rapid contagion and dump shard on rapture, i still feel like i tickle. Its a rough life being affliction right now

What’s funny is op classes like feral Druid can be kicked on cyclone casts and instantly shift back into cat form. No sweat for them. They just shift back into animal forms to do damage, no penalty: it’s absolute BS.

Fact is the enemy in Pvp is virtually immune to most of our instant spells. Drain soul and Drain life has a negligable effect. Just try healing with it. Can most always self heal in pve, but in Pvp it’s mostly worthless. The Unending Resolve tooltip says it prevents stuns etc, but good luck.

Torghast is far more survivable then in regular BGs.

Our curses barely touch the enemy. No trinket is accessible on our tool bar. No way we can use Fear or mortal coil if we are already stunned.

Best we can do is range damage or have momentary cc effects on enemy players, but it’s so minor we are usually dead quick. Pets too, do nothing. Our Seduce or spell lock is virtually useless and the VW damage is just a minor annoyance.

We are fine against 61-62 elites in pve, but in pvp, forgot it.

Aff could be melee Warlock. Best we do now is suicide missions. There have times when Melee Warlock actually worked

def does not say that it prevents stuns

Affliction relies heavily on a good healer, and by good healer I mean either a disc priest or paladin. I also second your sentiment towards having only 1 spell school, it really does suck when you’re locked out for 6 seconds and can only cast soul rot to then be either stunned or kicked again by the second dps. As affliction is now you really have to just be ready to always run, don’t give anyone the opportunity to connect with you for longer than a second if possible because otherwise you’re dead in that cheap shot/smoke bomb combo if you don’t trinket and port immediately.

It doesn’t use the word stun…says the same.

interrupts, silence ect.

And we all know how “fast” warlocks are…at least Soul Shape helps a tiny bit–I might get a few yards away.

It works on preventing the things it says it does

Yea you have to be on point with them. But when you face a halfway decent ww you might as well just be standing still… lol

It doesn’t do anything against silence, interrupts, stuns , shadow lock or fear. Likewise the human trait that has a similar tooltip. does not work. Can’t even click on trinket.

It works for me on stoping kicks and silences so not sure ehat you are on about

So, in a BG or Arena and getting in melee range with Rogues, etc, you aren’t getting getting 1 or 2 shotted, because you are using Unending Resolve?

Can you even click your trinket?

So why did this make you think it prevented stuns?

“granting immunity to interrupts”

Interrupts are not the same as stuns.

Baloney.

Kick, cheap shot, kidney shot, silence, spell lock, and others, are all stuns/interrupts.

When was the last time did you see your Felhunter or Succubus do any real spell lock or seduce? 2008?

The tooltip for “Will to Survive” say, “removes all stuns”. The human racial…

It works in some things in pve, but you can’t even access it when you are stunned/silenced…your spell bar abilities are unclickable.

What are you talking about? A stun is a stun and an interrupt is like “kick”. They are different and have ALWAYS been different.

Better tell Wowhead and Blizzard. No they have not ALWAYS been different.

read the tooltip for Will to Survive.

Neither of them categorize stuns as interrupts.

Human Racial: “Will to Survive”. “Removes all Stuns.”

movement impairing effect…Can you even click your trinket?
