PvP add-ons?

With the purge to add-ons in Midnight, is there a list of what add-ons have been repaired and are usually considered “required” for PvP?

I’m mainly looking for something that functions like omnibar. Not being able to track opponents abilities like fear or hammer make it impossible to pre tremor or pre ground an ability.

So yeah, has anyone compiled a list of add-ons that still work/have been improved for Midnight?

We’re still sort of figuring it out.

Mvqui might be closest thing to a compilation, not sure about standalones

There’s a bunch of ways from sort of feeling CD in your head, directly tracking CDs by looking at your own abilities (they cast a 30 second CD ability when I have 100 seconds left on tide CD, it comes up when tide has 70 left), etc

Also just people running at you

Oh, and I think? They made it so you can show a targets SPELL CAST TARGET but not 100% sure if it works in pvp or for focus. I thought it might, but not sure. Was meant to be a pve thing to stop bolts or shots.

Mvqui was using heavily restricted access calls to call private numbers so that it could track cds of enemy and friendly players, while also being able to track interrupts from both sides of the field (pve you can only track friendly and it wont be exact either).

Id be very careful using stuff from him atm he goes pretty deep into the API to find things (as all CS graduates do). It was removed from Methods site and Curseforge for this reason.

Actioning people for limit testing during a period where they’re specifically looking for limit testing and when it doesn’t matter would be a very Blizzard thing of them to do

Just let me keep Shadowed unit frames and they can do what ever they want with everything else

Finally got this working 99% as it used to. :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

Most people will do a “fake” attempt at getting their cc off before their cd is up purely to get you to commit your cds. There is no way I’m (or anyone else realistically) is going to be able to track the CD of fear and hammer while simultaneously monitoring everything else going on in game.

Don’t get me wrong, some things needed to go, but being able to track certain spells is crucial in PvP. I’m okay with them hiding opponents damage CDs, but CC’s and kicks should 100% be trackable.

Kick has precog which will be on cd manager if it isn’t already and no CC shouldn’t be trackable CD wise :dracthyr_love_animated:

I don’t understand what this means sorry.

I wouldn’t care as much of I could still tremor inside the fear or sleep, but having tremor get us out of 3 different classes fears, and a couple different versions of sleep, not being able to utilise tremor makes it pointless.

I don’t want to be the guy who just tremors into the wind. Because a priest or a warrior came within 10 yards of me.

I mean you can see when kick is used and missed because of cog.

Well, better be more careful about using it now :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

So if a warrior kicks me and doesn’t activate cog I don’t see the CD? And if I get cog, I’m just tracking my own cog cd? I really don’t understand what you’re trying to explain, sorry.

Carefulness has nothing to do with it. If I had berserker rage/berserker shout and could get out of every fear I would be as concerned as you are, but not every class is a 3 button meat grinder with a get out of jail free card on a 30 seconds cd.

You’re either cogged or interrupted.

Perhaps I should’ve said to be more observant and tactical

Yeah, I get that, but how do you track it? And if you’re trying to track multiple peoples kicks, is that possible?

Without being able to track shout, fear, hex, hammer or any other cc that has a CD, how does one be “tactical”? Being able to track those things and plan ahead is tactical.

:brain:

Also can use your own cds

You can still track them, though, just not with as much precision and not as easily because it requires a degree of headspace

Although I swear after enough games the lizard brain handles it

So, no, there isn’t. Because no one is literally going to track multiple CC’s in their brain while focusing on everything else…

There’s just a whole other world out there, huh.

Yeah, and it seems to exist solely in your head.

I was kind of anticipating these changes disproportionally affecting lower mmr, although mostly in regards to reacting to offensive CDs rather than forgetting CC exists without a tracker.

Ahh yes, the classic “you’re bad” argument. Not like those add-ons were designed and created by the Tippy top players because they know there is a need to track these things.

I forgot no one above 2100 uses/used add-ons and relies solely on big brain.

There’s refining by increasing precision then there’s relying entirely on to remember it even existing

Inability to differentiate between these two is sort of what I’m talking about
