Thats wrong. Pvp gearing although time gated gives you end game upgrades quicker. Sure pvers might have better placeholders but you’ll reach the finish line as a pvper much quicker than a pver will. Was soo funny on launch every1 was thinking pvp gearing was awful but now its the best way to gear xd.
Also yeah its 1-2 pieces at the end of a key 2 if you chest it. No one is doing 15s rn a 15 carry is about 1milG carry just for a chance at loot off it which is 210 ilvl. Raiding is much better source of gear but again only 3 drops per boss and at this stage no1 cant trade. Doing all 3 will net the most gear I’m 220 ilvl with pieces from every slot of content. M+ers get the worst end of the stick raiding is a lil bit better pvp is king though.
Keep M+ in line with conquest rates from random BGs, you’ll see the tears of the PvE players flood the forums. Keep Mythic raiding in line with rated content.
I’ve done probably close to 40 +15s so far and only have 1 piece of gear off actual drops. I’ve been fortunate to get 226 pieces with good stats for pve from my weekly box. M+ drops are garbage if I got valor points to spend on pieces and could upgrade to 226 I’d be 226 ilvl easily rn.
Pair that with 226 pieces from pvp too and the couple raid pieces I have I’d be maxed gear now lmao.
You’re talking about limited conquest pieces vs the ability to gear out every single slot on day one. So yes, PVE is still easier to gear up. This only changes deep into the season.
203 random drops? You mean unlimited 210 ilvl drops vs 0.7 items (or something like this) per week that you can upgrade up to 226? Ehm, yeah. I think until enough weeks past over, this equipping variant is obviously a lot better, as you can get a lot faster ilvl than by only doing pvp.
If you then combine it with hero raid, you will get gear very fast. That’s why a lot of high rated pvpers have done a lot of m+ as well as the hero raid. Item level matters the most.
https://de.wowhead.com/mythic-keystones-and-dungeons-guide says 207 for a +14 and 210 for a +15. And it was last updated like 5 days ago, so I would think it’s up to date?
You could do that. I’ve done that and my luck has been no better than buying a couple of PvP vendor items. Just because an item drops from m+, it doesn’t mean it’s useable or an upgrade. I’d rather spend the time doing PvP knowing at the end of it I’m getting a piece I want and can use, rather than spending 10+ hours in m+ for one item that drops in the slot i don’t want it to, and with stats that are terrible for me. It’s a double edged sword. Farming repeatable content isn’t as good as you think it is. In BFA, sure it was. But right now it’s actually turning a lot of people off wanting to even play.
If you think you can gear every slot in one day from m+, then you have no idea how terrible gearing currently is. The only way that’s even remotely possible is with a full armour stack of people that can also trade everything that drops for them. IMO pace feels good in PvP purely because you can choose what you want - I’d much rather that system than doing 10+ m+ a day for some anima and no drops or upgrades.
The difference between the two is, outside of gear, PvP actually offers:
Two mounts (minimum, Glad Mount + Spider, with others to collect if you haven’t)
Titles
Collectable Transmog Set
Weapon Enchant + Tabard.
What does m+ award that is comparable to that right now? Previously it was gear higher than heroic raid - now it’s lower than that. You get one mount for completing all 15s in time, and one title for completing all 10s in time. Where is the incentive other than “hey my IO is bigger than yours”? Given that the content is repeatable but with very little incentive with it’s Shadowlands implementation, why doesn’t m+ have more cosmetic rewards? Why doesn’t it offer the same rewards as rated PvP but just scaled accordingly to key level completion. It’s beyond me.
Yeah, ok I didn’t realise m+ 15 gives you 210, I thought they capped the gear after a +14, I may be out of the loop there.
But I do know for sure that you can upgrade your gear to 220 once you reach 1800. How is that still not faster specially considering how hard m+ is this season vs how much loot you get from it. (2 items on timing, 1 on completion) and they may not evn go to you nor even be good for you if they do…not exactly a fast gearing route.
That’s real funny because when I play the game on my disc priest who got the 233 staff from the 1st great vault week I still have 10 ilvls lower than any pver. But yea I guess pvpers still somehow have an advantage ay.
You get one item from the great vault (same for m+) but only 0.7 items from conquest points (in average, as you get 550 points per week but the average cost is approximately 750 cp per item or something) per week!
M+ has “only” an ilvl of 210 instead of 220, but you can get unlimited items per week from it. The reality is of course not like, that you get all pieces in one day. But you will deffo get “a lot more” than just 0.7 items per week, right?
That’s why PvE gearing is better right now, especially if the m+ players also go for raids, as the heroic raid already drop 213 ilvl I think? The best system is to gear through all 3 aspects, but if you are focused onto one aspect, means pvp only vs pve only, the pve only player have a HUGE advantage currently.
This advantage will get smaller when the honor ilvl will become 197 and will decrease even more later into the season. And at some point, PvP gearing will be equal, maybe even slightly better (if you are a very unlucky person in terms of loot), but that will take a lot of time.
The gap right now is like 220+ equipped pve heros on the one side, versus 200 max equipped pvp exclusive player on the other side.
Umm I mean…yes and no…was watching Gingi play the other day and after something like spamming 36 m+ 15’s he got 2 items none of which were an upgrade. So yeah sure m+ is “infinite” but sometimes it’s also worse then your “0.7 item” figure for a guranteed upgrade of your choice.
Bro, if you truly think that, actually try some mythic +'s first. I know pvpers don’t generally like them, but the effort is not even worth the time investment.
Maybe I am wrong, but m+ gives 2 items per run if you make it in time? Means, 2 out of 5 people will get an item, makes it a 2/5=40% chance for an item per run, correct? So in average you should get every 2.5 runs one item, or not? So in 36 runs he should have gotten 14.4 items?
Maybe my math is still sleeping though.
The only reason why I bought SL was the promise of no force into PvE. So no bro, I will deffo not run a m+ in this expansion!
That hasn’t been my experience so far. I see Mythic raiders still in their 213’s item levels and pro arena gladiators reaching 220 like Quinn on his pala. I’m happy to be proven wrong, but so far I’m not seeing it.
I mean theoretically sure, but sometimes it’s the healer/tank or other dps that get all the drops, you just get stuck with a bad luck streak no matter what.
Someone I play with literally got their weapon from the vault the first week, and got every single piece doing mythics. It’s still RNG based but it’s extremely unlikely that you’ll gear faster in PVP.
But impossible with only PvP. They need to run mythic raids to get such an item level right now. Sure, some people will be luckier than others, but if you only play pvp, you are currently capped at around 200 item level.
Nope. There isn’t a bad luck protection I guess, but when there is a unlucky guy, murphy’s law expect to have a lucky guy on the other side. So while Gingi wasn’t getting an upgrade for like 36 runs, another guy got his full 210 gear in like 16 runs.
