All Pocopoc has done so far is kick me out of stealth to get battered by elites, stand there and look stupid, or run around me spastically as I move.

the primary purpose of Pocopoc is to block your cursor from targeting what you’re trying to click on.

You can get him to do support or dps, and that will give him an active button (costs 2 energy) that can really save your bacon.

My robot dude tells me there is a treasure but then it disappears like 10 seconds later. So he is just someone for me to talk to as I ride around the circle.

I just unlocked Pocopoc’s Aggressive and Supportive abilities.
Makes small but noticeable differences. 
Make sure to put his button on your hotbar if you haven’t already so you can use his active abilities. His spin cycle isn’t target capped (that I’ve noticed anyway) and the supportive ability will save your life if you overpull in the northwest area.
I like the cypher equipment ability that makes it so taking over coreless mobs and using their abilities doesn’t cost energy. They’re all good and you can use them on CD (10 seconds) without ooming pocopoc.
Pocopoc is basically a terminator. He’s a freaking death machine!
