Purpose Of Pocopoc?

I do not understand the purpose of this companion. When I first obtained it I thought it would help me identify treasures, caches, etc. But, I’ve run all over ZM and it doesn’t do anything really useful. He’ll take a few swings at mobs, but apart from that it’s just an annoyance.

So, clearly I am seriously confused. Can someone enlighten me?

Cheers,

I think it’ll do more as you unlock more cypher of the 1st ones.

Outdoor world busy work. [something to work on, add some flavor etc]

Cute robot that does stuff.

He is the Arbiters son and when you go into the final dungeon he’s going to rip off the jailers head and drink his blood.

Or he’s just a cute robot companion meant to make you go, “aww”.
Take your pick

I look at him as a round BD-1 from Jedi Fallen Order

Mine has an Admiral hat.

I think sea law requires that they fight to the death if they ever meet.

look at the first column in teh cypher - it tells you what it does when you research that part. Will be useful .

Oh it might be the same hat. But I’m down for cute ( non lethal ) robot fights

Out on a limb here, perhaps, are you aware you need to right click Pocopoc and ask it to be on the lookout for stuff.

Still only reliable finds the concordes, over and over.

Not sure how it ties into the story or the zone. Comes off as a half baked mechagon crafting system.

Pocopoc’s main purpose is to find puzzles. His 2nd purpose is to be adorable.

I only said the obvious, perhaps OP didn’t realize the right click talk to poco.

My Pocopoc finds lots of stuff… maybe, I don’t know, I chose the 236 chest that improves his skills… maybe it is helping. Resonating I think it’s called.

You have to talk to him first and ask him to keep an eye out for treasure. Be warned though he will point to stuff you may not be able to interact with AND stuff you might have already found. Its a wee bit disheartening for Pocopoc to point something out to me only for it to be a lore cypher I’ve already interacted with.

Has anyone explained how you do this?

It’s a part of the story quest I believe.

As far as Pocopoc, he’s just a fun companion that helps you learn about a strange new land. You can upgrade him with new abilities and even dress him up in new costumes. It looks like they put a lot of work into this character.

So, if you aren’t seeing any interactivity with Pocopoc you might need to do more story quests, or right click him and see what options you have, or get more upgrades.

:slightly_smiling_face:

EDIT: ALSO! He interacts with your gear as well. Some items you get have abilities on them which upgrade Pocopoc, so there’s that to look out for as well.

The problem is the upgrades aren’t obvious in what they do, and it’s not obvious what order to do them in. The other problem is all the cosmetic garbage which isn’t really content, but which too many people seem to eat up nowadays. I have to assume that Animal Crossing is the best selling game of all time.
