The choices as the player is next level that we dont see much of anymore. The only recent example i could see as a choice of morals is the deathknight legion class mount, either murder the whelps or dont.
In that sense, the same is given during the purge of dalaran. You can hit civilians fleeing. They are marked as enemies. Showing that to the player, its your choice.
I unqeuiped all my AoE tinker slots and talents just so the splash wouldnt go onto civilians. at the same time i was doing this, a hunter just started blasting.
this is what i want to see. Subtle choice.
Ah yes, the great choice of how many civilians you want to kill while ethnically cleansing a city. Much choice, very good.
well its following the orders given to on high or blast without a second thought.
im guessing you are refering to the banker, the gaurds, the arcane gear guy, the scribe, and the… cinderweaver lady veresa told us to hit right?
It is a great choice. This is still a roleplaying game, that choice can in fact reflect what kind of character you play. Nothing more. So please, don’t try to make a big deal out of it.
The choice is between war crimes and war crimes. It’s doesn’t really reflect anything since you’re forced to commit war crimes either way.
The choice is between doing your job or going nuclear on the job you are given. The DK example was used. And there’s nothing wrong with having a choice to commit warcrimes.
okay maybe theres a point if they didnt attack first but they did attack first.
the civilians dont attack the player character.
so maybe theres a grey zone for those who used force on us first?
The Alliance need more of it to be honest.
The Horde are forced into that directive repetitively, with little to no standing for moral high-ground.
Anytime they do (Purge of Dalaran) — and you have hoards of Alliance on the forums justifying it & demonising the Horde @ why it’s completely & utterly deserved. lol
uh… There’s no actual choice in those quests outside of how you do the mount one. The civilians don’t aggro you.
A choice would be being able to say “nah, screw you Jaina, I’m not helping with the whole ethnic cleansing thing.”
It is only a war crime if you lose.
I don’t think no one believes it was “deserved”. It’s just exhausting hearing hordes of Horde players (ba dum tss) yelling and pouting about the purge as if it has been some kind of nuclear attack while completely ignoring Brennadam, Southshore, Theramore, Teldrassil, among others.
Yep. War itself can be considered a crime so war crimes are kind of silly to me.
Dead is dead either way but not in this game. All those npcs will be back to do it all over again and again and again.
I really hope AI never attains consciousness. I think that’d be a horrible existence.
thats the choice.
they dont aggro on you, yet you can aggro on them.
Yeah, but…that’s like saying you have the “choice” not to kill all those random neutral NPCs on your wait to pick up the talbuk dung that the questgiver asked for.
The only correct answer is all of them.
When i think back on all the war crimes alliance and horde do to each other i realize…
Theramore was wiped out, innocents upon innocents were massacred.
Teldrassil…all those children, mothers nursing…pregnant, sickly elves burned to death…
Brennadam in bfa was just disgusting to play through as horde… i never want to do that crap again.
Jaina had every right to flood orgrimmar and massacre every single hordie living in orgrimmar and then go on a killing spree throughout kalimdor.
If jaina wants, she could single handedly wipe the horde out. Focusing iris Jaina? Horde fanbois and girls do not realize how scary a empowered jaina is.
And no, battle for dazarlor jaina doesnt count. Im talking about in lore jaina.
I’ve literally had arguments this week on the forums with many who do — I assure you, there ARE handfuls of people who genuinely believe it was deserved - even so much as pressing the argument that “justice” wasn’t even fully met, as there were Sunreavers who had escaped the wrath, apprehension and incarceration.
This.
Lemme firebomb some Tauren farms and then watch with satisfaction as Gnomish gyrocopters sweep the skies, salting the earth and gunning down stragglers.
Lemme engage in a bit of atrocity by impaling some Forsaken PoWs on spikes along the Greymane Wall facing north so they can watch that vestige of their world burn, reflecting as they languish upon the folly of aiding their former victims as if all were but water under the bridge.
Gimme a taste of that good stuff.
Here’s a whole entire thread filled with several Alliance peeps who argue throughout the thread of how the Alliance were utterly innocent and the Sunreavers had it coming and it was “deserved” —
Enjoy!
Technically there are no such thing as the alliance and horde are nog bound by a world court
