There are some classes where there is basically 1 choice, the other three are so bad, if you want to perform well, not even min max, just general performance, you have to pick the one covenant.
It is simple, they put them on your talent bars and you pick them like you would any talent. You can still pick a covenant and work through building them up and getting their rewards but because Blizzard cannot balance these things, at all, they need to let there be choices on what we can use. You will use every one of them while leveling anyways, so it isn’t like your character just knows them out of nowhere.
He said that if they couldn’t balance it they would pull the cord. The fact that some youtubers are still obsessing over them was not the condition for the cord pulling.
You can pick any covenant you want, what you can’t do is build your own covenant using all the parts you like from each of them, and you also can’t go back and forth between them.
So I am not asking about everyone, I want you specifically how does this affect YOU. These forums are full of people grandstanding claiming to speak for everyone.
How does this impact your class/spec and how you plan to play SL?
Personally my main is HDH, I am much much more uneasy about the lacklustre legendary and lack of synergy or interesting choices in talents, when it comes to covenant I pretty much have to go venthyr despite wanting to go Maldraxis for story, if they nerf the venthyr ability then maybe kyrian.
Either way I don’t know how bad it is for everyone else.
YES. I want to play my paladin but their choices don’t make a ton of sense for some of the specs. You are left trying to figure out…I want to be this covenant but their ability is just so bad for what I want to do…it breeds resentment.
Good. People should be playing with groups of friends and guilds instead of pugs all the time anyway. Sounds like this covenant business is working out better than planned.
Youtubers obsessing over stuff like they always do, and asking blizzard to scrape their covenant idea entirely or parts of it. So far with incoherent reasoning.
Funny, that people can’t take the information they are given on all the beta forums, all the data collected from all those that have spent a ton of time in game testing, using that information only to be talked down by someone who can easily dismiss all that because “muh choices”.
I think it would be kinda cool if we got the ability tied to our chosen covenant right away but then let us earn the others until we have them all unlocked. I want to keep the rpg element but I know that balance issues will most likely make it to live.
