#PullTheRipcord

bahahaha this didn’t age well, must suck to have to eat your words.

As it turns out if you make bad decisions that your customers don’t like, they leave and then you do have to compromise. So glad to see that other mmos are lighting a fire under their collective butts and proving brain trusts like ^^ wrong.

Poor Yesuna, quit WoW before they could see the glorious pulling of the ripcord.

After your posts on bfa systems and now this, they should probably just tailor their patches around whatever mega thread you have going tbh. It’ll save us all 6-12 months.

They supposedly stopped playing . Their character is no longer in the armory.

Maybe we need to start complaining now for the next xpac so that by the time it comes in a year or so it will launch with fixes in place .

Doesn’t work. All the issues with Shadowlands covenants were identified and highlighted by the community right from announcement in 2019. All we got were minor compromises (believe it or not the terrible covenant swapping/conduit system we have now is better than what they were planning).

That’s why I say we start before they even announce knowing how long it takes them to get things done . :joy:

Funnily enough this does seem like Blizzard’s MO: They’ll announce something bad and if you give any feedback the defense is often “It’s too late because it’s been in development a long time!”.

I say we start by telling that first off we don’t want any more farming of things with the letters A & P in it like Anduin Potential or Alien Probing. We then go into no more of this tying player power into aesthetic choices . We also go make our characters feel complete with out having to grind out some kind of new passive talent tree system over and over again with each new expansion .

Tell them to stop making the systems the content and making actual content like maybe a new dungeon every content patch , maybe a more cohesive story for the expansion quests each patch . Throw in a new bg into the game .

Sad part is I think Blizz already had this ready to go when Ion said there really wasn’t a rip cord .

This was the break glass in case of emergency

For me, personally, it has nothing to do with validation or vindication. Their statement just says, to me, that they’ve learned nothing from this experiment and will continue on their ways. Release unpopular system, people hate it and quit, they fix system and expect praise. It’s like clockwork…and the fact that they refuse to admit failure is very frustrating. Just my perspective.

Wow, the ripcord was pulled and the game is now much better. Its too bad blizzard listened to the terrible trash that did everything they could to make the game worse.

Well they got that community council they are forming with players.

Let’s hope it isn’t all white knighting yes shills that they take but a variety of people that agree with everything and people that will call them out on issues.

If it is only going to be those that agree , then we will get what we had at the start of the last few xpacs and even worse if those are the only people they will listen to.

If it is a variety of people hopefully we can get issues fixed faster like before launch (wishful thinking) or by the expansions first xx.0.5 or xx.1 patch .

And so, with a heavy heart we wave goodbye to Shadowlands - An expansion riddled with issues which brought the Developers vs The Playerbase issue to a head which ultimately ended with a uneasy peace signing where we got (almost) what we wanted from the beginning.

Dragonflight looks promising, it looks infinitely better than Shadowlands did creeping up to the launch. God bless to all who fought for the ripcord being pulled and a pox on all of you who defended such a ghastly system. See you in the skies, soldiers.

TFW Blizzard still insists to this day that they made the right decision

Dear god this may be the stupidest comment I’ve read on the forums.

I am so happy Shadowlands is at an end.

Yesuna is one of the homies who defended covenants that got lost along the way. They were part of the “if you don’t like it, quit” crowd that ended up quitting instead of fighting for a better game :fist: .

I have never felt such relief for an expansion to be over and i’ve been playing since vanilla. This expansion has almost zero redeeming qualities outside of it was the last expansion Jeff Hamilton ever got to touch.

It looked pretty a few times.

What do you mean by “Ignored Content”?

Ardenweald is a contender for best zone in the game.
