Its not a requirement for mythic raids either, if you have people strong enough to carry you.
So where is your line Sonechka? Heck you could probably make it through the entire expansion spamming starfire if you have the people to back you up.

LMAO Rogue covenant venthyr was changed because it could not be balanced with a simple tuning pass IMO.
And this is going to be a common theme around covenants. No matter how much tuning happens some covenants flat out will not work.
Pull that rip cord.
I have three builds for Ret Paladin in SL. One that needs Vers/Mastery, another that needs Haste/Mastery, and the last that needs Crit/Mastery. There’s different soulbinds and conduits for each.
I know that all three of those builds, once optimized and ready for a raid can complete that raid. I can change to which ever build that I want, regardless of the Covenant I choose.
You don’t have to chase a meta to be optimized. Good players can still be good with sub-optimal builds, they just don’t bother with the content that forces them into a meta.
Not sure why I got pinged in this. You still didn’t answer my question.
Thats not what I asked, wheres your line? what do you consider the low ball for “able to complete the game”?
I can cast Starfire and move around to dodge the fire too, I’m sure i can optimize my Starfire damage and do pretty well for only using a single spell.
Is that what you consider " not a requirement"?
I endorse #PullTheRipcord
You’re trying to make an exaggeration of what I was talking about.
As long as someone is competent and comfortable with their class and have optimized whatever build they have, they should have no problems completing the majority of the end game content.
I know you’re a big fan of hyperbole, but it makes for a really lackluster argument.
Your right, i am exaggerating, I’m a huge fan of being hyperbolic, but with a purpose.
You refuse to tell me where your line is and instead choose to repeat platitudes over and over.
So I give you the extreme of the extreme and I assume you going to give me an answer somewhere in the middle between your platitude and my hyperbole.
Thats your line, I cant work with generalizations all day, it gets annoying.
We cant get to an agreement if you arent willing to challenge your own beliefs Sonechka
K. Guess they don’t have an answer to my question because they wrote themselves into a wall. Not the first time, certainly won’t be the last
#PullTheRipcord
If you invest in so much time to explain to players how a system works, but the immediately change that system in the next breath, you’re going to alienate a majority of players.
I didn’t think I had to point out such an obvious answer.
My line is players being competent enough with their class to play their class effectively with what they’ve chosen.
I dunno how more of a line I can draw.
Oh you’re serious…
Sorry, but changing it to where Covenant abilities can be easily swapped is not complicated and alienates no one. That word is not even applicable in the scenario you’re trying to create.
You argue that meta isn’t a requirement except for the top 20% of content
isn’t an argument for that, it’s a platitude.
I agree with it, I think a player should be competent enough with the class they have choose as well.
So if we both agree to that wheres the disconnect?
Why dont we both agree to pull the ripcord?
yeah cause the mage tower and other challenge modes didnt require specific abilities be used to complete them did they? not all abilities are created equal.
Did you need your legion artifact ability? No.
what? this was something tied to our spec though. (which we could change at will btw) also its easier to balance 36 different weapons than 144 different class and covenant combos.
Was there any part of the Mage Tower fight the specifically required you to use your artifact ability?
what does it matter? if you didnt take mortal coil in the lock fight you would never have completed it. there have been MANY instances of this in game
If only they were continuously trying to improve the abilities…
Looks at today’s changes…
So do the other options…
Dude there is a month left and covenants are a complete mess. You’re really trying to use this as a defence?
M+ vendors still turned off, nobody is queueing arena.
