Honestly as long as the ilvl remained below Mythic to me it wasn’t an issue.
Making it worse than heroic gear is the most baffling solution to this.
This is the biggest head scratcher here, m+ seemed to be getting a lot of attention towards the end of BFA and most m+ were excited about the new affixes and seasonal affix.
This is just absurd though.
On the bright side, the demand for our heroic sales is going to be through the roof!
They emphasized very heavily in the post that this means you cannot trade heroic loot the first mythic week of raid, so I think it’s aimed at making split runs or Race to World First harder.
Not that it’s really an elegant solution, split runs will happen anyways, and heroic runs will still be up for sale within the first 2 weeks.

Yep. I got why they made it lower than mythic with the removal of set bonuses after Legion. Set’s were always the prestige raid gear and after the failure of Azerite I’m scratching my head wondering why they won’t add them back. If they want to remain lazy and only make 4 “sets” from an art perspective fine, but they could still attach class specific bonuses to each, just like how we get stats based on our spec, give us bonuses based on our class.
I have a feeling a lot of these changes are going to be so badly received we’re going to see some major concessions come the first patch but this expansion really feels like it might be the last one they can pull this crap with. Players will lose faith in Blizzard after all the missteps they’ve made. Once word of this starts circulating more I have a feeling it’s going to be hated even more than locked covenants which a lot of players still don’t really grasp. Invalidating the content you enjoy playing the most is something everyone will get.
The best comment I’ve seen regarding this change was on reddit where someone said, “I finally understand how WoW PvPers have felt about gear over the last two expansions”.
