Just so we’re clear contrary to what you might believe I’m not trying to start an argument here. I’m very excited to the changes to alts in this expansion (as I’m playing multiple shamans!)
WoD didn’t have no content though, It had some of the greatest raid tiers , challenge modes (Which more or less were a catalyst for m+) and a very good and healthy gearing system for arena.
Just because it lost a tier doesn’t mean it had nothing.
Part of me thinks that’s why Covenants were kind of built the way they are, since leveling alts is more streamlined than when you level with your main, there’s almost no burdens keeping a handful of characters up.
What’s funny is based on your achievement history you never even played Legion at the start. And you barely play the game - like normal raids and mythic 0’s? Sorry to break it to you, but 90% of the player base takes this game more seriously than you do - this isn’t a top 1% problem, this is the bottom 10% thinking they know jack about the game.
Obviously you didn’t look at my achievements hard enough if that’s the conclusion you came up to.
Try again.
I’m not claiming to be no hardcore player. But to think most people actually rerolled their entire character because of legendary drops is some SERIOUS delusion.
Some people are more than happy to reroll to help their guild overcome an obstacle. N’zoth was considered impossible before hall of fame closed with no less than 9 immunes. Any guild that wanted fame slayer rerolled to have 10 for a better chance at securing the kill.
If that’s what you wanted to do, then that’s what you did.
Doesn’t mean its a blizzard problem.
Not saying I liked the acquisition of legendaries. I hated it actually.
I never got my BiS for Frost until like Antorus. Because I swapped between all three specs multiple times through out the expansion.
But my point was hardly anyone rerolled entire characters because of that. It was literally a top 1% issue.
We just wan’t a good game for everyone, It sucks that it’s met with such hostility and so many people were quick to make posts gloating about how we’d lost.
Someone brought up how awful legion legendaries were because apparently LOTS of people rerolled entire characters to be competitive. Which is wrong.
But also implies that it was Blizzard’s problem for this happening. Which, to an extent it was. But definitely not intentional.
Which way is this merry-go-round going this time?
Did they though? I wouldn’t know since I’m not at the top 1% obviously.
All the content I did. My AotC’s, my mythic key stones. No one ever rerolled because of legendaries. Balance? Sure.
Also, my definition would be someone who feels compelled to play the game in a “degenerate” way because they feel they need to do that to be optimal. If you feel like you can’t push to the highest possible rating/keystone/mythic raid and thus need to play something else entirely, then you are of that 1% mindset. Even if you aren’t playing at the top 1%.
And if you make that choice, then so be it. But to put fault on a system entirely because of that choice you made, is just weird to me.
“We’ve also heard from many players who, rather than being worried about regretting their choice, would prefer that they not have to choose at all.” This was how Watcher summarized unchaining abilities from covenants… even though that’s not at all what most people are asking for… Personally, I want more choice… I want to be able to choose my new class ability and choose my covenant.
Honestly my biggest gripe from the post, apart from flat out lying the ripcords existence was the we’ll balance them…truuuussttt ussss… when they have an atrocious track record of balancing any of the rental power systems.
They even specifically stated they wouldn’t nerf legion legendaries … then did.
