Funny thing is all these people going I want to play it how the devs intended it seem to forget . Every borrowed power system has been bad at launch and has needed to be fixed. We are justtrying to get them to fix it before subs start bleeding.
I still don’t get how these people think there will be no major problems especially with Blizzard’s track record . The issues are so obvious even Stevie Wonder could see them.
#pulltheripcord
People think raids aren’t competitive because they have zero interest in the scene.
Which is fine. You don’t have to care.
But it’s the logic as people who thinks a movie or game was objectively bad because they didn’t like it.
Honestly at this point, the 5 or 6 people who are actually against the Ripcord know the issues, to them the fact Covenants suck is the entire point.
They don’t care about WoW being the best game it could be so long as people who they don’t like also don’t enjoy it.

We love this game, give us a reason to play it.
I think that might of been Sonechka
Except that analogy doesn’t work because an RPG isn’t a sport, raids aren’t competitive, and Basketball is a joke anyway.
I was comparing their attitude about not following trends as them being second string NBA player who’s going to live and die by the mid range when the meta is being able to hit the corner 3. Like I said 2 points is 2 points(dps is dps) but hitting a 3 at the same clip(doing more dps in the same amount of time) is more valuable to their team(raid).
I think that might of been Sonechka
I lose track of what Sonechka says. They change their argument every 5 seconds depending on what is convenient at the time.
My point wasn’t targeted at anyone in particular, I was just comparing the “raids aren’t competitive because I don’t care about it”, to people who say “Rap isn’t real music because I don’t like it”.

I used to work with someone like that. I would love to point out how Rap music has been top of the charts for a longer period than Rock music was when they would rip on it.

We shouldn’t have to choose between the aesthetics/story we want for our class/character and abilities that perform the best in different scenarios. I understand not everyone min/max’s and that’s fine, but others do.
For the life of me I still do not understand why they didn’t make all of the covenant abilities available to all covenants and just skin them appropriately. Keep the signature abilities tied to the covenant, but let us have the choice. They’re pushing these covenants as the major theme for the expansion, but people that care enough about how well they perform won’t even get a chance to actually enjoy the covenant they want because they have to go with what performs better.
I’m not discrediting people on the other side of the fence as they want to enjoy the game their way, but I think taking away people’s choice on the #PullTheRipcord side of the fence is not a fair approach either.
I was genuinely hoping we were moving back towards the days of the difference between two players is skill and not RNG or borrowed power. Watching players around you perform better simply because they picked the power over the looks/story for their character does not feel good, especially for an “RPG”.

It’s a frustrating mentality to argue with.
Because of course, they’re not looking into the intricacies of the beat, how well written the lyrics are, or even how hard it is to actually perform the songs.
I’m personally more of an emo/metal fan, but the skill needed to produce and perform rap well is genuinely insane.
But of course, people like that never consider that. They don’t like rap so it’s obviously not real music.

WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED UNTIL THE GAME IS FUN AGAIN.
I agree, and at the end of the day, I think everyone can agree that the only genre of music that isn’t real is country.
I think Country could become great in the future.
With the advent of self-driving cars, we can finally get a song about how the truck left the singer.
#pulltheripcord
I can see it now .
Hate you , hate the wife and I took the dog
The Truck
As trucks get smarter…maybe we could get a song from the perspective of the truck itself.
And just because I’m making myself suffer, I’ll make all of you suffer too. I can’t get the image of the mountain screaming dudes out of my head, except instead of old dudes, it’s like…an F-150 or a Ram just blaring their horns.
Choosing YOUR power and LIVING with it is the correct choice.
I love the idea of a decision we Will have to make that will directly effect our strengths and it be semi-permanent.
Arguing that “you won’t be invited to a group” is so pathetic.
MAKE YOUR OWN group if it comes to that. There’s tons of players and classes that don’t get invited and it will never stop. Tying covenant choices to this silly idea is the weakest argument.
And are we supposed to just continue living with it when Blizzard hands the top performing covenants the WoD SV hunter treatment?
If that’s the strongest build, yes. Live with it. Or roll a “hunter” yourself if you play the game just for DPS meters. There’s always more than 1 way to play a class/spec. Stop watching YouTube and twitch and taking everyone at their word. Take a chance and try out your OWN theory, you’d be surprised and some “sub optimal classes and builds” out there.
Okay, so just to clarify. Blizzard admitted they nerfed SV into non-viability because they didn’t want people playing it, as they were turning it into a melee spec. They did the same thing to demonology. So, what I was saying is, when they nerf the top performing covenants into non-viability, are we just supposed to live with it?
You misunderstood his point.
How can you make an informed decision when Blizzard can pull the rug from underneath you and render your covenant choice practically useless?
Stop watching YouTube and twitch and taking everyone at their word. Take a chance and try out your OWN theory, you’d be surprised and some “sub optimal classes and builds” out there.
Actively locking Covenants inhibits experimentation and innovation, and encourages you to pick the default ‘safe’ choice that is good in most, if not all situations.
If there is a lack of innovation or “meaningful choice”, it’s because Blizzard is godawful at balancing multiple builds, not because those choices aren’t punishing enough.
