#PullTheRipcord Blizzard, the flaws of Covenants have already been exposed

Imagine being a proponent of a decision you don’t even understand.

I put words in your mouth how? I mean all you are doing is spewing out talking points and when pressed have no answer for them lol.

Yeah. I do think we need some PvP zones in modern WoW. Heck, it could work in Shadowlands too. Just add a Valhalla afterlife in Shadowlands and make it similar to Wintergrasp and offer meaningful rewards. That I would participate in along with the other stuff I do in WoW.

Granted, I don’t think we’ll get that, but it would be a cool addition.

I never presented the idea that you’re trying to press me on. Sorry I’m not interested in being strawmanned!

They seem to like designing a flawed system, then fixing it.
It’s like a firefighter/arsonist, they cause the problem then get to play hero when they show up to fix it.

I’m not sure you understand what a strawman is.

That’s literally a talking point and what you said.

Yes, you complain, everyday, non-stop… for “the People.” LoL.

why i cant be optimal?
im playing against optimal players… u know… a mmo

Yep! That sure is what I said! You don’t have to be optimal at all times. Please note that I have not said:

As I’m not a developer and don’t actually get to dictate design! If you’d like me to defend a statement I actually made, I’d be happy to try!

Like I said, a worthless drone.

Why does that matter? People obviously WANT to regardless of what they HAVE to. We don’t HAVE to scale past content with gear but we still equip upgrades because we WANT to

If you wanna be so sub optimal because you find it fun, pass on all your gear and pick non meta talents.

It matters because you don’t have to be optimal in all forms of content, and the development seems to be going that you shouldn’t be.

I’d also like to be able to solo my way to Gladiator naked with a fishing pole. That’s not a thing supported by the game’s design, either.

I think the mindless you describe is due to the systems that don’t exist, such as just floating aimlessly in the air skipping over content.

Instead of the sky having it’s own set of interactions like flying mobs that can attack your mount and ground you. I think the convenience factor is what bugs me the most.

in PvP this allows people to fly up to safety because that lay of basic interaction isn’t there. There’s no winds to throw them out of the sky or mobs to challenge them.

Thats what I want to see, people having to be weary of the sky and having it another interaction just from flying mobs and other players.

There’s a bloody sea between the two continents and we can’t even take a boat out to explore it and gather it’s resources…

and there IS interaction in the water. we’re condensed to a few zones… thats it.

why are all the major cities not fortifiable? I could go on and on.

You don’t have to do anything, yet people still want to do things. Hardly anything in this game is done out of necessity. This is such a bogus argument to make.

Glad your position can only be supported by personal attacks, have a good day!

Why do you think you should be optimal all the time? Are you arguing for race changes with the click of a button? Class changes?

Why not? Why is that strawman?

The right racial in the right situation is potentially thousands of dps and/or the ability to change fight outcome.

Being able to switch between mage or lock with the click of a button would be huge for casuals. No grinding alts, no “time-gates” of leveling. I mean after all, the hardcore players will have the time for both, let the “casuals” compete and be able to switch!

Not really personal when it’s true.

God, this “hurrdurr you created a character so why arent you ok with every decison being permanent” argument is so tired. The class we chose is the vehicle we chose to enter the world in. Covenants are just anoter turn in the road, they are not the vehicle. Covenants are temporary. The class we create our character to be is not.

If you want to play the game, there are some things that are necessary. Full optimization is not one of those things. As long as you can achieve your goal of “Time a key” it doesn’t matter if your DPS is 1 thousand or 1 billion, only that you can meet the goals of the game within the game’s systems.

Edit:

Blizzard wants them to be a vehicle. Whether they fail at that or not doesn’t really matter as far as intent goes.

How are they not an extension of the vehicle?

Yes. No class/ specs have ever changed dramatically. Shadow priests were all happy with the voidform/ old god theme change. Survival did not become melee. Combat did not disappear… Warrior stances…
