He was saying the posts on these forums are always made my the same “1% cutting edge raiders.” I was only saying to search the topics to see who they were being made by (which is a far more diverse demographic than just raiders), not to suggest these forums are indicative of anything larger.
I agree that most people are more likely to critique than to compliment, but the participants in the discussion are certainly not just from the cutting edge side of things
There never has and never needed a reason to PvP other than to test your mettle and be the best combatant you can be. Simple enough to understand.
You say mindless but it’s clear you don’t PvP. Which is fine.
Raids are killing NPC over and over, you find that fun. I find that mind numbingly pointless, because it offers too little depth to stratagem and tactical approach; just a quick Icy Veins search for BIS and a youtube video and you can complete any raid content in the game.
A structured, interactive world… that’s destructable… requires immense resource gathering, planning, in a potentially endless landscape with good capture points would prove to be endless amounts of dynamic, engaging fights which will never be the same.
But your thumb-to-nose dismissiveness of anything you do not like wouldn’t help you see that picture.
Okay that makes more sense. Regardless, I’ve been lurking here for a while and just started recently posting, and it’s obvious that this topic is brought up more by the top end than the middle and low end players. It just is
The reason for that is that it simply effects them more than others. In a world where this system effects everyone, but heavily effects Mythic raider’s ability to do what they do, it’s pretty easy to guess who is going to voice their opinions more.
Sure, I agree, I’ve seen plenty of Joe LFR casuals talk about the restrictions and how they dislike them, but the majority of the people on these forums who consistently voice their distaste with the Covenant system are Mythic raiders.
Making order out of chaos is fun too, which is why I enjoy PvP in all aspects. You see a mess because you do not see WPvP, you viewed it as a spectator and didn’t take part of it.
Everythings fun when borrowed power isn’t in the game
The other part of the issue is the initial decision isn’t even a decision for someone who wants to push themselves. Covenant balance is super important to even allow role playing while also wanting to be the best you can be even in only 1 aspect of the game.
Say I love mythic plus but I want to be a vampire. Well looks like my mage is severely gimping himself. That kind of ‘choice’ feels bad.
I don’t really agree with that, I think its an assumption being made. I am nowhere near a top 1% player, my highest key is a 15 and I didn’t get H Nzoth until I outgeared it.
I don’t care if one covenant offers 3% more damage than the other, but I do care if one is significantly better than others (and they are), or if one suits how I want my character to feel rotationally.
I’ll use my Monk as an example. I’ve seen a lot of people on vids saying that Venthyr is likely the best cov for monk, because the class ability is a huge easy to use damage cooldown and their utility skill is also strong. However, I want the Night Fae ability because its a short cooldown aoe that suits how I like to play and I think it looks awesome visually.
But guess what? I hate the Night Fae covenant, everything about it aesthetically. So here I am, a not entirely casual but certainly not hardcore player who will still be picking a covenant that I hate in order to get an ability that I like, even though it prob wont be “BiS” for my class.
It’s a no win system for everyone who simply doesn’t get lucky enough to have the ability they like not only be good but also be in the right covenant.
You’re not forced to do anything. You don’t have to be optimal in every form of content you do. I know this was forever ago, but still felt like I should respond.
I’d like to PvP but PvP just doesn’t have an incentive for me.
And so you want it to be ignored and want the focus to be on PvP. Also, since you want to pull the “you don’t PvP.” Should I pull the “You don’t PvE?”
Again I’m asking you what that means but you still refuse to tell me what this “interactive world” means.
Weren’t you the one who wanted everything to be dropped in favor of your idea? I expressed my support for engaging world content and pvp zones like Wintergrasp. But then you dismissed that yourself.
My problem lies in how you want everything to be dropped because you think it’s boring rather than having… both.
If you ever would like to PvP and see wPVP, come to Emerald Dream and find me I’ll help you get started.
I actually want an interactive world because it’s PvE mechanics that would support a healthy PvP element. Such as fighting over world bosses, territory and control.
Interactive - cutting down the trees , mining huge ores that are rare and required, destructible/repairable buildings ever changing landscape. Aerial combat like Wintergrasp, only across all of Azeroth.
I actually do PvE and raids, because it was required to get Versatility because they had no vendors. You see, PvPers have to PvE in order to get good trinkets and certain pieces of gear for PvP.
There we go. Now that I would like. Apologies, from what I just didn’t understand exactly what you wanted earlier. But my point is that I don’t want that being the priority over everything else in the game.
Yeah, the gold mine they are sitting on is like Wintergrasp and those amazing flight mechanics where you can shoot down other planes.
Or the awesome tanks you can go into and blow down a door, thats what I want expanded upon and put in the base game.
Going out into Arathi and chopping down a tree or mining the ores was basic level awesomeness that i would prefer to see more of.
actually having a boat you can take across the water.
expanding upon the flight system where they have only 1 upgrade, let it be many upgrades and additions that causes your mount to shoot acid from its mouth or make it through gale force weather
