Could you elaborate on this comment a bit more? I’m not sure what it is supposed to be saying.
Are you suggesting that every single Monk player talking about these issues, from the Peak of Serenity, to streamers, podcasts, and various forums and even all the Monks in this very thread are all simply suffering from a “learn to play” issue?
Please enlighten me. Enlighten us all. I’m sure most folks here are looking to enjoy the Monk class more and “learn how to play”.

Right, I’m totally going to listen to the not max level warlock alt telling me I need to learn how to play my class.
Hey, do me a favor. Go get on your monk, find a mob to fight. When its at 5% HP, cast Fists of Fury. Enjoy being locked into combat even after you’ve killed the mob.
Monks definitely need some love. Their beta forum has been charting bugs and throwing up suggestion after suggestion for months to little avail. A dev told them about three weeks ago that changes were coming ‘next week’. Then silence.
Really hope they’re looked at before beta ends otherwise I suspect whatever problems they have will continue for the next 2+ years.

With launch looming over the horizon and blizzard’s stance of not doing extensive changes when an expansion is live, we need to get their attention so we don’t launch in our current broken buggy mess.

Trying friend. Trying like hell.
This is my third forum thread here in GD and I have 2 I the Monk sub-forum.
I continuously bump any thread I find here or Reddit and I’ve been actively trying on Twitter.
I’m doing all I can short of going to Blizzard headquarters and lightning myself in fire(true Monk fashion!).

Literally 1 month later and they still haven’t updated us at all after saying they were going to. They lied, there were never any changes and they didn’t listen to our feedback. Expansions about to launch so if they do put together some changes at the last minute, they’re going to be rushed and there will be no room for discussion like the other classes got.
Thanks Blizzard. Well at least they put me onto Final Fantasy XIV, great game btw!

Idk why people are complaining I love my monk, I’ve only played In prepatch but it feels really good.
Also I don’t use SEF, its a dumb talent. I use serenity so my clones don’t end up being ice nova’d and then I hit like a limp noodle.
Maybe the problems are for PVE ppl.
Do you feel its the perfect class/spec and needs not a single change at all?
Monk was amazing in MoP (as they should be for debuting any new class) and even in WoD were amazing - I especially enjoyed raiding MW.
It was Legion where the class started to fall apart and where artifact talents filled in the gaps.
Now it really is just a corpse of a class. T___T

Bumping because still sad
Dont pull too hard on a monk’s cord… he might enjoy it too much.
Don’t pull on my cord, my pants will fall, and no one wants to see that.
That said, if I can complete quests and not die a thousand times doing it, i’ll be ok. I do feel bad for those who love monks and want to do raids etc though.
Already decided to swap classes. Saying there will be an update and 3 weeks later not a single word tells me the support I could expect.

Im still gonna play MW Monk but I’m most definitely gonna have my Resto Druid and one other healer(still undecided) as well.
I’m disabled so i legit play basically full-time so its not difficult for me to main 2-3 classes.
Not gonna throw Monk away, unless its just not fun to play but damn I wish I was a more effective combat healer.
I will be leveling my WW as well as main alt, but I dont expect my raid to take me as a progression toon. Im sure M+ will be fine.

I’ll be playing my monk as my main, but I expect to have my resto druid leveled and ready as a backup just in case. I’m sad that I need to consider having a backup.

Time to auto delete threads with the word cord in them

yes, I love Monk, especially WW monk. its the most fun spec to play right now.
Time to delete posters with the name Asstrien.
Same I’ll have my Druid as well.
I’m not in the beta but from some streamers I trust(Automaticjak, and others I can’t remember names atm), looks like basically more of the same with Monk:
There not necessarily “bad”, they do have good throughput but they suffer hard from man’s issues and super weak damage.
But if you can play around the man’s issues, it seems like they will be decent.
Also, they are buggy af.
I’m gonna forget ahead with Monk as my main healer and just hope that the Legendaries, bring that awesome Fist-weaving style that I crave.
If that ends up sucking, like really bad, I’ll have my Druid on standby.

It’s not surprising that someone who would defend a buzzword is also childish.
edit: my comment sucks, disregard
