My guild is taking a break from raiding until 8.2 so I join a BOD heroic pug raid leader is a hunter first boss we noticed hunter is doing less damage than the holy pally I think that’s odd we wipe at 20% I go and inspect the hunters gear ilvl 297 in quest blues I look at dh tank also his guildie 305 ilvl in mostly questing gear the whole raid looks and starts leaving dude starts whispering everyone calling them names and stuff.

Pro tip if your trying to get yourself a carry group for you and your buddy at least be somewhere near the required ilvl to actually do the content.

Are you telling me that Blizzard throws heroic raiding ilvl gear around to everyone this expansion and people are still wiping hardcore this far into the raid? So much for it being a catch up mechanic.

Jesus, I hope you’re trolling, 'cause otherwise holy crap!

You’d be wiping too, if one of your tanks was ilvl 305. I’d barely trust that person to tank a normal dungeon, let alone a current heroic raid.

I’ve seen this before. I make it a habit to check the leader’s ilvl now.

I choose to plead the 5th on this. Had an incident last night with our raid team and a pug priest, and I’d probably be benched for a good while if not perm. if I continued.

Will simply say this - I hate them, and if from now on we have to pug for our raids, they can simply replace me. I’m done with them.

Did you read the post it wasn’t the fact we wiped one of the tanks was ilvl 305 and a dps at ilvl 297 I think your focused on the wrong part here. Maybe next time read the whole post instead of assuming anything no one was “chilling” in the raid. I’ll get some 305 gear and we can go into heroic BOD and let’s see you not wipe. I swear people these days.

Because Bliz doesn’t set an ilvl requirement to walk into a raid. In a way, I think they should put an internal ilvl req to enter the raid.

However then undergeared people wouldn’t be able to buy carries. And would also hurt guilds.

But then there really probably are people that legit don’t know better.

(I know this sounds trollish coming from me.)

I agree with you. In all honesty I don’t think someone with an ilvl of 297 or even 305 have any business being in a Heroic raid.

But the game isn’t set up like it used to be where ppl had to put in some effort to get gear - grinding dungeons - normal, then heroic - b/c ppl complained it took too long. It’s that whole Instant Gratification thing. It sucks, but it’s where we are now.

Mind you, this is coming from someone who isn’t a hardcore raider - I’ve been there trying to carry ppl with those ilvl’s in Heroic(Uldir was such a headache for this reason to me)
It’s made me honestly not want to raid anymore, because instead of progressing, thanks to these lower ilvl ppl, we just keep banging our heads against the boss. Definitely not enjoyable.

Pugs are hard. But pugs with quel’thalas and ragnaros groups are like M+999 levels of hard.

But gear is falling from the sky! Go to those posts and then wonder why so many pugs are undergeared. Scratch head and ponder…
