Pugging Woes

Just ran a 10 WS with a mostly full guild group, but we pugged a shaman healer.

It was rough. The healer didn’t use SLT once and we had a few deaths each boss fight.

At one point after the third boss, I noticed he was using Earthgrab Totem for the affix this week. Earthgrab totem doesn’t work for the affix, so I shared that it didn’t work and suggested thunderstorm or cap totem.

This dude started going off. Telling me to just worry about how Im playing and he can play how he wants. I shared that it was a group activity and was just giving advice on how we can successfully get through it as a group and he just started cussing me out more.

Pugging is rough, friends. And somtimes people just want to offer advice to make it through the dungeon. Unfortunately, this guy decided to cuss us out and drop group but he just wouldn’t listen that SLT is a great cooldown to take advantage of and that Earthgrab doesn’t work on the affix.

Lol.

Meanwhile there’s me using mine to keep alive a player in LFR that didn’t make it into the boss arena in time, and I’m using it to heal him through the wall. (He’s standing in the other part of the circle on the other side.)

Just for funsies.

I use it all the time- it’s too strong not to.

It was astonishing that there wasn’t a single SLT. Like use that on CD my friends!

Was there more you wanted to say? If you didn’t like the thread you didn’t have to comment. We’re allowed to discuss whatever we like about WoW on these forums.

Sometimes it’s good to hear other people’s experiences in group content.

Hopefully you reported his rude behavior and gave him a nice needed time out.

I did! I even decided to be petty and looked up their guild and informed their guild master of their terrible behaviour.

I’d want to know if someone in my guild was doing that in keys. Don’t need that kind of representation.

Wait until you have to risk pugging people using one button and having a GCD penalty because apparently sorting them out is Bawd despite them being penalized

Honestly the only good WoW content atm is one on farm like legacy content you can solo.

The competitive aspect just isn’t there. People going insane because they’re playing the timegate instead of the game. The chasing item gameloop is broken and people misbehave as a result.

You’re going to get a lot of toxicity and people not wanting to deal with each other until then, as people see each other as obstacles for the weekly login lootbox vault.

And then theres me who pugs on the daily and the rudest thing ive witnessed was someone saying “you need to read a few guides”

…and he wasnt wrong

This late in the season all that’s leftover are the hard carries. Funny part is it’s not even that late. We’re what? Half way through?

Regardless, this is what I deal with the entire time. I main heals and I’m constantly compensating for players lacking knowledge. The moment they nerf Mistweaver into the ground is the moment I can no longer hard carry for these folks.

PSA: if you’re going to random M+, do yourself a favor and don’t. Find 4 other people you like and push until you’re content with the progress.

People dont understand being wrong is a tool for being better. As long as somebody’s mistake is shown in a civil way, its a favor people should be thankful for.

Oh no! Let me get upset early about things that haven’t happened yet!

“One button BAD!” Is becoming your whole personality. Ranting and raving on GD is going to change exactly nothing. I’m sure you’ll survive, and if not you can always just . . Unsub.

Let alone something that’ll probably never come to pass

It’s okay, Tweedle Dee who posted after them’s personality is all about boosting. One note singers are the worst.

Or, for those of us who don’t have 4 other people to group up with, read guides first and practice at 0 or very low keys to start learning the fights and dungeon pathing.

It would be nice to have 4 friends who still play regularly and can give up that kind of time, but sometimes that’s just not an option.

100% this.

I would add that they have to want to hear feedback. Even giving civil feedback to someone who doesn’t will be seen as being rude/arrogant/being a dick/whatever.

But, whenever I get into a new dungeon and there’s a mechanic I am not familiar with, I love getting that civil feedback. I wish there was a way I could reward someone (e.g. “the Teacher” title or something after enough votes) who has taken the time to explain something in a fight that I just wasn’t getting from the videos or other guides I was reading.

I’m sure they laughed about it

That’s really uncalled for
