Having an email hit before beta is applied to an account is a recipe for disaster. So many people dont realise they have beta access because they dont check the game drop down on the launcher.
I’ve had that happen to all my beta invites so I always check first thing when I hear the beta has opened.

I was in WoD and BFA beta so it’s probably a really bad sign if I get picked again. 
Of course. It even says “thank you for opting in.” Not everyone is going to get an invite.

This. They are often not synched up very well. Launcher tends to show up first and the email can be up to a day or more behind.
Restarting the launcher, or even PC is a great way to kick it and see if it updates.
There should be several waves of invites. Note that unlike some past Betas, an active sub or game time is required for this one.

They are not getting a second invite. People in Alpha are automatically in Beta. Alpha is REALLY a tiny test group. Everything just rolls into Beta and invite waves keep going out to folks who opted in.
They may or may not do promotions at some point that give away Beta access via Wowhead, media, streams, etc. That tends to be a bit later in the Beta cycle.
Yeah that’s just how it works. You might not ever get an email. I’ve been in several and can’t recall getting an email about it since WoD.

No. There’s a post about it right here in General Discussion with a link to the opt-in page. After you’ve opted-in, it’s luck of the draw. You may not get invited.

I never check my emails for that stuff. Just opt in and check if your account is flagged for alpha/beta. Update your browser for account status checks. Same thing happened with overwatch beta.

I could care less about Beta, save trying the Dracthyr which is going to be the make or break for me.
Oh you’re right. It’ll be cool to play around with the dragon customizations. I haven’t bought the xpac yet but I’ll think about it if it’s really good.
Can confirm, randomly got beta earlier as a non-streamer/regular player
Tbh I would rather/want to play Wrath classic, but queue times making that pretty much impossible
