PSA - Maintain Forum Trust Level 3

There are some sitting in a thread from 2 months ago… if you don’t mind old stale cupcakes.

I kind of thought it was because spamming the forums is often more engaging than the game. (And it’s something to do while AFK on a flight path.)

I got trust level 3 and i’ve been forum banned like 3 times, idk how it’s meant to work.

Depends. If it was on the old forums, it doesn’t matter here. Also, it seems to be the case that there are two types of “bans” on the current forums. One is a suspension, where you can still see the forums but can’t post. People have said they have received this type of action and retained trust 3. The other is a full on ban, you can’t even view the forums until it is up. From what I understand, you lose trust 3 permanently from this type of ban.

But then again, Blizzard doesn’t even seem to know all the inner workings of the forums yet, so who knows.

We’ll see… It took almost 5 years to get a “Appear Offline” function for the Battle.net launcher. That is really about the same complexity.

Maybe someday we’ll get the Dance Studio!

Well yeah that’s the part that kind of sucks when it comes to the forums and such. We don’t know when things will actually be changed. There was many many months on the old forums where post history was broken. Even greens were prodding to get it fixed.

But… if people keep using alts to do things they don’t want them to do and they don’t want to try and go after every single one who does it (I don’t have a clue how many participate in said activities so I can’t speculate on anything) then I imagine that part at least might be a bit more of a priority since it specifically affects them and moderation.

Who knows though. Maybe they have lots of changes on the horizon for us and them and they’ll roll them all out at the same time sometime soon down the road (fingers crossed for a really good ignore option from me).

I really wish that there was an easy way to check your trust level. Like something that’s actually part of the forums and not sifting through code.

The problem arose because some people supposedly wanted to keep posting on characters vs bnet tag id and the programming wasn’t set up entirely to handle these things.

All they need to do is switch to bnet id and things like race changing wouldn’t be a problem.

Yes. Yes we do. And cake. And pie. And deep fried Gnome. And an executive bathroom. It is wonderful

The fact that you have to maintain anything, other than good behavior, to keep your trust level up is just asinine. I know these forums were created by someone other than Blizz but it doesn’t change the fact that we all have to maintain an active account in order to post here. That means paying money or spending gold on a token. Either way, Blizz is getting paid.

Note to self don’t server transfer…

ok , so i tried that and all i got was a page full of

{“user_badges”:[],“user”:{“id”:52108,“username”:“Hermíone-aggramar”,“name”:“Hermíone”,“avatar_template”:"(xhttps://render-us.worldofwarcraft.com/character/aggramar/19/86388755-avatar.jpg?alt=/forums/static/images/avatars/wow/5-0.jpg",“last_posted_at”:“2019-03-18T23:59:43.400Z”,“last_seen_at”:“2019-03-20T00:04:57.203Z”,“created_at”:“2018-11-14T08:39:44.192Z”,“can_edit”:true,“can_edit_username”:false,“can_edit_email”:false,“can_edit_name”:true,“can_send_private_messages”:false,“can_send_private_message_to_user”:false,“moderator”:false,“admin”:false,"

very tiny and looks like my cat threw up on the page

I figured I was level 2 because I can’t post links anymore and I could last week, maybe week before. I lurk on the forums but haven’t posted much lately. Don’t have time to sit here and up my “time played” metric for the forums and for the game both.

you trust level 2

You can get it back, GM confirmed it. I know trolls and stalkers who gained theirs back.

There is.

It’s where greens and others go to complain about GD.

It’s not great.

coughs loudly with Hankypanky

I contacted CS about this and a really cool Blue actually responded and told me that they’re looking to fix it and make Trust Levels account-wide sometime in the future.

I briefly had trust level 3 before just quitting and trying other games for a bit. I think it’s silly since activity doesn’t really mean much in terms of trust.

I’d trust the guy who posts maybe once every two weeks, but it’s a really good post - over say, spamming more clickbait than Dalaran on a daily basis.

It is whether blizzard can trust you with additional functionally, not whether you can trust the poster with it.

Someone who is on here a lot and posts a lot is more likely to know and have proved they can follow the rules than someone who is hardly on here and has posted 10 times. That guy is an unknown.
