PSA: Garrosh Heirlooms in 8.1.5

Just giving a bit of advice to everyone:

If you played during Mists of Pandaria when Siege of Orgrimmar was current and you got one of the heirloom weapons from Garrosh, I highly recommend upgrading them both now to 110 and in 8.1.5 to 120.

Why? The Garrosh heirlooms all have two prismatic sockets. In 8.1.5, if you upgrade them to work up to 120, at level 111 they’ll all have an item level higher than 200, meaning you can equip an Insightful Rubellite in them and get an extra 5% experience all the way from 111 to 120 without having to worry about upgrades.

It’s something I’ve been planning on doing once 8.1.5 goes live, but I figured I’d suggest the idea on the forums to anyone it might help!

They didn’t nerf the XP nor the sockets. All they did was bring the stats in line with leveling and dungeon gear. On purpose to make sure those without heirlooms weren’t kicked from dungeons.

It will be interesting to see if they leave this in or not. I also had no idea those were upgradeable like the heirlooms we can create ourselves.

they ever say why they won’t scale down to level 1? is it the gem sockets?

could they be disabled or something? just seems odd. i love my heirloom axe but i only get to bust it out for a little while.

Fairly certain it wouldn’t matter that much if they were made to work from level 1 because the sockets would basically be useless until 60 or 70, since JC wasn’t even in the game until BC.

Why they don’t just do it anyways since it wouldn’t matter much, I have no idea, I don’t believe they ever addressed it - If they did, it would’ve been on the old forums years and years ago.

I have the Int. mace and I keep forgetting to use it on leveling alts, I’ll probably forget to upgrade it too. Thanks for the reminder!

I have every single one, with the healing mace as mythic. The only one I’m missing is the 1h strength sword. :frowning:

I appreciate the heads up though. I’m just concerned they’re going to up the price for bumping them from 110-120 to 20k. It’s already 10k … I can afford it, but damn … I have 102/108 heirlooms.
