You have a maximum EXP bonus of 50%, actually, not counting temporary bonuses from holidays, darkmoon faire, etc. (temporary bonuses don’t count towards the maximum bonus)
Heirlooms give you 55% if you have both rings, so even having all heirlooms gives you more than you can benefit from.
Blizzard “claims” that only RAF is limited to 50% max, but I’ve tested it in-game with the gem, and putting a 5% exp gem in my gear did not affect my quest turn ins. I have a friend with the dread pirate ring, and putting all heirlooms on, the second ring doesn’t give any benefit either)
So unless they fixed this in 8.1.5, it’s not worth it.
That said, I’m jealous of those with Garrosh weapons. I missed out because my computer stopped running WoW during that pre-patch. I have the WoD trinkets though.
It states right there at the beginning that the XP bonus from Recruit a Friend is the only bonus experience with a max of 50%. That heavily suggests, outrightwardly so I’d say, that outside of Recruit a Friend, XP bonuses can go past 50%.
Though it would be nice to have confirmation for those unsure. I’m just fairly certain it’s not capped at 50% for everything.
We’ve no idea though if the Insightful Rubellite counts towards the cap though, since it can’t be used until you get ilvl 200+ gear, and heirlooms don’t go past 110 yet. Considering it’s not a piece of gear and rather a gem, it might allow for passive experience gain past 50% while it’s socketed.
I tweeted Warcraftdevs to see if I could get confirmation on if there’s supposed to be a 50% increase cap on everything - I’ll let everyone here on this thread know if I get a reply.
Yeah, wasn’t questioning if you could equip more than one, or suggesting it. You can craft a 225 at 111, but you’re going to eventually get a better piece while leveling - With a Garrosh heirloom upgraded to scale all the way to 120, you won’t have to worry about getting a better piece and using it instead but losing the 5% experience.
