Apparently the repair/vendor functionality of Coppers the Kobold was removed in 11.02. So don’t spend your Globs of Wax/Fire Rubies on it. Naturally I find this out after I purchased it. As a non-battle Companion pet it’s now purely cosmetic.
I won’t even bother asking why create a pet like this, delete its functionality, then still leave in game for players to waste resources on.
Remember when they had that six month fish mount that was a flying/aquatic… removed the aquatic feature. I feel like sometimes they make these kinda baffling changes just because they’re bored.
I was leveling a character to unlock the garrison hearth stone when I popped in the water and thought “man I’m really slow under water!”. It was later on when I was looking at mount tags to see which had the fly buddy system that I noticed the aquatic tag on my otter but not my fish mount. A literal fish that can’t swim… good one blizz.
If you use static flying then the swim speed is increased
But flying is only 310 still. Not the 420.
But if you are dragonriding / skyriding then the swim speed is removed.
There’s the Guild Page, Guild Herald, and Argent Squire/Gruntliing (with Argent Pony Bridle upgrade) that can all be used as vendors, but they have 4+ hour cooldowns on usage.
So, yeah, I can see why Coppers got nerfed, but they shouldn’t have removed the vendor ability completely.
Given the Mammoth, Yak and Bront mounts, I dont see how a single pet is very OP. If it is, make it cost more. Make it cost 4 gems instead of 1, which would be 150-200 nodes instead of 38-50. That would make the grind closer to what you get.
That said, they didn’t take it out because its op, they want to monetize it.
The other pets that act as vendors, or any items that can spawn vendors, all have cooldowns. They’re not going to make a zero-cooldown vendor pet that obsoletes all those other things.
The do that crap all the time. Thats why you walk into any major city and see 55 yaks at any given moment. You just want to argue. I’m gonna put you on ignore down dumass
