Completely wrong here.
They can easily see what characters have the most progression and time played in certain content which allows them to see mains and alt.
They can also see who casually raids and who is more hardcore.
They can see every single metric really.
You know I believe this is fake news…but honesty I won’t be surprised if they pulled a stunt like this
What they are giving us in the next reset is not exactly account-wide essences. It’s also not likely to change for the remainder of the expansion.
I’m not “angry and jaded” at all. During legion somebody started a thread on whether legion was a success, and a dev responded with a very long post on how they create metrics to show the various aspects of the game and their success. Nowhere was “player fun” a consideration.
A job is a job. This job has prestige and will look good on their resume. The idea that everybody who is a dev is passionate about a game most of them don’t play is silly.
Yeah. how many devs are there? Hundreds? I’m sure they all have their company-provided accounts. But how many play seriously on any level, given their job workload and the fact that they come from diverse backgrounds? A few.

I have some friends who work there and we play whenever they aren’t at work.

‘Mains’, ‘alts’, ‘casuals’ and ‘raiders’ are artificial designations. There is no fixed denotation/demarcation defining them. Without that, they cannot be determined, let alone measured.
That isn’t true at all, again, because they can see what you do in game with those characters and go from there.
It is clear which is a main as that is the one primarily played.
Alts get less play-time.
Raiders is even more clear as they have raid progress lol.
once again it’s to damn late when lots of players are already getting burnt out. and essences are way more important and alot more grindy than alot of stuff ever.
its there fault again. i used to have alot of toons the same as my main but you know if you don’t spend 24/7 on its way harder now i always had 3 toons exactly the same.
So can we not buy rank 2 essences and stuff?
Even if it is the case though it’s still would be preferable.
- You get to more or less choose the content you want to grind.
- It likely won’t be quite as time gated as some of the essences.
