I would refer back to the original announcement to clear up any misunderstandings you might have and if you notice any discrepancy between what was announced vs. what is actually happening in game that would be a good place to start rather than just making your own interpretation of what will happen.

We all know a lot of people came back to check out if the hype was real, and were only going to stay as long as they remained entertained. A lot of people posted to that effect. A lot of people have posted saying they are leaving.
The fact that they have made changes more than suggests the program was not working. They said they would never make essences account wide, and then they came up with a change that kind of sounds like it has an account wide thing going on.
After a blitz of forum trolls telling us that healers and tanks could go pound sand and solo it themselves, they nerfed it because participation numbers were down. The game is full of changes that are intended to increase participation in certain content by changing difficulty or incentives.
I don’t need to prove anything to you if you think that you being here and posting that you’re having fun means that no one has left.
This is how they’ve literally done every expansion lol.
They’e always made it easier to get things on alts once they were done with content lol.
Just stating to someone that ‘the requirements for ‘x’ essence has been reduced so it’s not as bad as you imagine’ counts as white knighting to the mob.
I don’t think that’s how it works. The only thing we need to see now is how the currency works, how much it costs and how much we get.
Best case scenario is that this is like the legendaries at the end of Legion. They cost currency but weren’t hard to get at all.
It’s too bad it appears that devs think of their players as a mob.
That’s a lot of words (I completely ignored) just to say you really don’t know anything going on at Blizzard.
I think we attribute too much to devs. We don’t know how much creative control they have over the content they develop or the changes Blizzard implements.
I’m pretty sure they did similar stuff in the past. Not everything is meant to be taken personally lol.
I mean there’s an official blog about how to get into Classic WoW as well. Is everyone that is looking to play Classic an idiot?

I fully expect you will be unable to consider any point of view but your own.
We have no reason to believe that all the people who have said they were leaving or who have said they abandoned the content, or who never got the cloak on any of their characters are anything less than the tip of the iceberg.
But the idea that devs do not make changes to content and rewards to increase player incentives to play new content really is way out there. Or that they don’t keep track of how much it’s being played by what sort of player.
I accept proof and facts.

You’re making up an imaginary scenario and then demanding that I disprove it.
All the people who left and posted to that effect represent a great many people who did not post but have done those things.
I just really really hope that there is a BoA option, much like the random legendary token we could sent to alts in 7.3.2 and 7.3.5. I would love to spend time on alts (to then be able to play them), but honor grinding and m+ have gotta be done first on this character. Will be nice to purchase all rank 3s (except for Conflict, dang finding people that want to try for low arena rating) once it goes live.
To be fair, you’re essentially making an argument without having proof to support it and assuming it’s fact.
Cuts both ways really.
Unless you’re on the inside, nobody can say one way or another how things are being done.

The only imagination is in your posts, spouting off with no proof of extreme sub drops just because of essences. I’m sure some people did leave, but not like you are implying. There were a lot of people pushing for account essences, I saw that. Still, no proof of droves leaving because essences weren’t account bound.

Are you really trying to say that you think they don’t follow changes in player patterns in new content, or don’ tweak content to get more people to play when they fail to reach participation goals?
Are you really trying to tell us that the only people who have stopped playing that content are the ones in the forum? Or that they posted that they were bored and leaving but actually weren’t bored and were happy with the content?
Tip of the iceberg. Ignoring that doesn’t make your claims valid.

I generally agree with most of what you’re saying, but without actual proof, you really cannot make a factual claim of anything.

I’m grabbing a cloak on an alt so I’m ready for Tuesday - will find out then exactly how it works out. Lets give it a chance.
The good news, however, is that most of the “pain” in prior alt runs was the rank 3 for me. We shall see.
Combined with up to 9 guaranteed shots at corruption rng a week, feels like changes are real.
It would be funny if it took you as long to grind the new currency to buy the r3’s as it would have taken to earn them…
