Protection Paladin spec bonuses

its not tho, but go on

The Season 2 2pc set did okay dmg in M+ but the healing aspect is nearly negligible.
The 4pc was random with a pretty low proc rate.

I would argue the Season 1 set bonus of giving yourself and ur melee buddy 6% vers along with all that parry was not only more powerful, but just tons more useful. 6% more throughput for a dps is better than double that for a tank. And the defensive value is gonna save ur healer some globals.

thats if your caster is gonna be “near you” if it goes on the auggie then it has 0 value

There’s a melee dps in like 90% of my keys lol

They’ve got the teams to be able to do it, but Blizz doesn’t want to give players the ability to create their enjoyment of their spec. We were so happy for talent trees, and then Blizz did what they do best and force 1 build path required do to a tier set.

This. Giving a near-permanent 6% vers buff to your melee friend is worth way more damage to the group than the tank doing a bit of fire damage. You’re a tank, your damage is not important.

Defensively, S1 is probably not quite as strong as S3, but you don’t have the problem of losing empowered consecration due to forced movement. Besides, Blizz post said they’d update the power of old tier sets to match current power level, so if S1 wins it might even get buffed.

You’re playing the empowered consecration horribly if that vers buff would outweigh your 4pc damage.

Any sane person will choose season 1

The amount of forced movement makes it annoying to play around

Season 3 set bonus is garbage because its tied to our most garbage spec REQUIREMENT - which is consecration.

Most people dont seem to know this but with Glyphs you used to be able to turn consecrate into an aura, essentially. You could move with it. I hope whatever Dev tied us down to standing in consecrate has been fired or left Blizzard.

So anything except season 3 would be great

tierset of season 2 is garbage

Friendly advice? If you want people to vote your way, maybe don’t be deliberately insulting toward other people just because they disagree with you.

(It’s the clown faces, in case you feel the need to lie and say you aren’t being deliberately insulting. There is no chance you put those in without intending to mock and insult everyone who disagrees with you.)

Lol jfc…we’re really going to have S1 crappy set again? “omg I can’t play around moving consec” Then go play a different class!

MY sentiments exactly, the others feel passive at the beginning of the other seasons I knew my tier bonuses shortly after I forgot, this season I was very pessimistic about our tier bonus but I was wrong. is engaging and it feels good to press consecration.

forget about the tier, our damage reduction is tied to our consecration the current tier set just rewards you for doing what you are already supposed to be doing. if standing in consecration is a nuisance for you. then that is a class design issue, not a tier issue.

So I am a noob prot pally I guess, I always thought that a lot of strength for our class was tied to consecration. :woman_shrugging: I always felt weak on bosses that required movement. Shadowmoon last boss showed me that when I tanked a full melee group and we had to constantly be moving lol.

Voted for S1, S3 is awful. and S2 healing was bad.

yeah, it seems like we’re gonna be punished by noob paladins that are massively voting for season 1 tier set, which will bring paladins back to ostracism compared to the other tanks…we will have the WORST possible tier set from this list because noobs are thinking this 6% versa is crazy, while it really sucks for our kit and fated itens/trinkets from raid combinations…RIP paladins in season 4.

Voting for S3 gives the devs ammo to triple down on the lame consecration gameplay we have to deal with.

I am a noob, but I haven’t voted yet. Still waiting to see what others think because honestly I am super casual and have been fine with all of the tier sets so far for the content I have played in.
