Ok looking for advice suggestions on what others are planning and what the better choices are. I am 300 enchanting, switched to that to be able to get the spell power enchant to rings when tbc classic hits. I am also 300 Blacksmithing, Master Swordsmith. Im torn on dropping this and if I do, picking up Jewelcrafting or Engineering. So my questions, first should I just stay Blacksmithing? Second, if I drop Blacksmithing, which is the better choice Engineering or Jewelcrafting? Third is there an option I am missing.
Oh and I am playing prot (have been since start of vanilla), and have a mix of AQ40 nax gear for my tanking set.
With the Leatherworking nerf, the best professions are Enchanting + Engineering.
Enchanting is 24 spell power, which is unmatched in terms of power for Prot Paladin.
Engineering gives bombs, which are worth about 50-60 DPS if used on CD, or even more if used for AoE.
Blacksmithing is only going to give you a sword for when you DPS, which shouldn’t be all that often.
Jewelcrafting doesn’t give unique gems until later, so there’s zero benefit to it. As far as I know, the trinkets also do not require Jewelcrafting even after Blizzard’s changes, so it’s a “craft what you need and drop it” kind of profession for now.
