How do you guys feel about the nerf overall? Do you think it will tremendously hurt us as a PVP class? Been doing 2v2 Arenas as Prot Pally. 19k atm and want to push to 2.1k. After the nerfs, I am little scared and feel like switching to Holy.
What are your thoughts?
100% switch to holy. 20% wog nerf and 20% dampening for prots, there will (rightfully) be no more place for tank spec in arenas
as much as ive loved being out healed by a prot pally in dampening games
We dont hit as hard, and then they nerf our healing? What are they trying to do with tanks??
If it nerfs the base value of WoG like with Ret, it won’t be that bad I don’t think. I did some testing last night for comparison. I heal 6,500 on a full health WoG and about 20k if I’m at around 5k health. We shall see what we get tonight.
Probably trying to weed them out of arenas. The changes won’t make or break them in bg’s.

It’s weird but I’m doing a lot of damage as holy. Way more than I ever did as prot. Like 4K dps most games with just the honor weapon. The throughput really falls off if I can’t crusader strike anything. But as long as I can I feel like nobody dies and I’m doing a ton of dps. I think I’m going to max out my mad paragons next and see this through in some higher rated arena.

I don’t feel like my covenant contributes much to my damage it’s all like health buffs and mastery buffs.
The mastery buffs aren’t bad though I’m playing super Agro in melee range with my team so I’m getting the benefit from it.

I might switch to Holy then. I like the fact that Prot has Guardian, Silence, and Steed of Glory. I thought Prot does more damage than Holy.
Yeah I went Kyrian to venthyr and the burst windows are crazy. Downside is the long CD but I end up doing the same or close to the same damage as my dps. Throwing a 17k crit hammer. Maybe 12-14 in arena
So I my testing last night vs tonight shows almost no difference in WoG values based on full health, very little health, wings, no wings. Anyone else find any different?
I would like for this to turn out true lol but 20% to base value then scaling of the Hand of the protector is hard to do math on

The 20 percent reduction is in pvp only.
Ah yes, I’m dumb. I neglected to test it before in PvP also so there goes that scientifc test.

I don’t really queue serious arena atm I’ve been toying with ret and holy in RBGs yeah.
Nerf isn’t as bad as I thought! The big hitter is actually the 2v2 damp
